Never knew I wanted a Blade game from the Dishonored team, but now I need it.
I would not be so sure this is the Dishonored team. The studio may have the same name, but the investigative news reports about Redfall's development suggests that most of the studio's senior talent left during that game's development.
Developers who chose to spend their career making immersive sims are unlikely to stick around at a studio that decided to randomly start making a multiplayer shooter.
Redfall was made by Arkane Austin, a different Arkane development team. Dishonored and Death Loop were made by Arkane Lyon, the same team doing Blade.
Now, you may be right that some of the devs behind Dishonored and Death Loop aren't there anymore, but it would be for other reasons and nothing to do with Redfall. So in that light, I'm still hopeful Blade will live up to the hype.
The blade is a great weapon in Dishonored. I wouldn't be surprised if the blade in Blade were done correctly, as the developers had clearly studied the blade before.
Quick demos of how far along they’ve climbed out of the uncanny valley, meh, but when I saw Akrane Studios several yehs .
Oh... the game.
Shit I thought this was a trailer for the mahershala Ali blade movie. Dang! I was so excited for that.
Is that still going forward?
I checked, they're still making that movie and he's still playing blade! Planned to release in 2025.
He's perfect for that role.
Mahershala Ali said it's still in development yesterday. But who knows... I love Blade and think he's a great pick for the role so it's super frustrating that it was announced four years ago and it's still two years away at the earliest... Dude's gonna be 51 by the time the character even shows up in the MCU. So either Blade isn't gonna be around very long or we're looking at a daywalker that's gonna need to use an actual walker to get around by the second movie.
That's fine, I'm not worried about the next reboot or sequels, I just want to see that movie.
I was very excited to see the original blade, and I still like that movie, but I'm just as excited to see what they can pull off with Ali and such a cool character.
Oh shit but it's marvel so it's probably going to be pg13!
Oh, no, it's R. Whew, that would have been terrible.
Will he be the first person to have two separate roles in the MCU (apart from whatever Stan Lee was)?
He will not be the first. Here is a good run down. Ironically, Ali isn't even the first Luke Cage villain to get a second role. Alfre Woodard played the grieving mother who convinced Tony to kick off the events of Civil War.
Gemma Chan was arguably highest profile in terms of plot importance if you don't count Agents of Shield and the Netflix shows.. She played a named bad guy in Captain Marvel, then Sersi in Eternals. You've also Michelle Yeoh who played a Ravager in Guardians 2, and Shang Chi's aunt. A bunch more had voice/CGI roles for their second appearance, like Linda Cardellini or Benedict Cumberbatch.
No, it looks like it's pretty common for marvel to reuse actors, actually. I had no idea until you asked though, and there's even another actor from Luke Cage with multiple roles coincidentally:
Please let this be a full ImSim!
0% chance with this kind of IP
Why? Considering how much design freedom Marvel allowed the devs with Midnight Suns I don’t see why it couldn’t be. What parts of the immersive sim genre do you think can’t be done in a mainstream game?
I'll get excited when it releases if it isn't full of mtx bullshit. So I'll probably never get excited.
Mtx? Not familiar with that acronym.
Microtransactions, if you're curious.
I’m not a big Marvel fan (and know next to nothing about Blade) but he was one of my favorites in Midnight Suns (which is awesome) so I’m definitely looking forward to this.
Don’t gotta be a marvel fan to enjoy the blade movies especially the OGs. The ‘98 film is a classic
And the soundtrack is just Confusion on loop
Did he pay with Euros or that's some fantasy currency?
It's set in Paris.
That's awesome! Thanks
Is this a different branch of Arkane, or is it the same branch as Redfalls team?
It's Lyon, known for Dishonored. Even the game is set in France.
