Looking at a referb Omen with a Ryzen 5600 with a RX 6600m 8gbv bc it's far more affordable than Linux specific options $900 vs ~$2500, and none of the Linux sellers appear to have a good all AMD option. I have a rework station for hobby electronics. Referb doesn't bother me. I've had 3 HP's in a row and every newer version has had progressively worse proprietary firmware. I'm looking for how bad it is now. The only coreboot options I've found are Star Labs and System76, but both cost more than double for a nvidia GPU and mostly Intel options. What's the deal on the Omen? Is there another ~$1k, all AMD laptop with 8gbv or more that works well on Linux rn?

I'm currently using an MSI Alpha 15 with Ryzen 5800H and RX6600M. And it's working really well and it has great thermals on top of everything. But really, most laptops just work these days.
