Please for the love of God someone else crack denuvo so we can cast Empress into the fiery furnace where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

[-] MiltownClowns@lemmy.world 108 points 11 months ago

As a person who doesnt pirate games I hope empress reigns supreme for the rest of eternity. I just get to the cackle at craziest fucking headlines that come out of the game piracy community because of this one person. This one insane fucking person Has this global community bent to their will and you can't even complain about it because what are you gonna do? Go pay for things? Fuck that noise.

If it were in a movie I would say it's overwritten. If I didn't know how crazy people can seriously crazy I would think it's performance art. It's the rare perfect storm in modern day where everybody's doing something wrong so you can point and laugh at the misery of all of the people involved.

but my lord, the lore!???

[-] SchizoDenji@lemm.ee 3 points 11 months ago

MKDEV literally dumped their info and process they used to crack FM and FIFA.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

[-] Morgikan@lemm.ee 110 points 11 months ago

Apparently some mods were running keyloggers on the community.

This sort of shit has been going on in the warez community for decades. It's why I don't pirate software anymore - even Empress has a strong incentive to sell out.

[-] UprisingVoltage@feddit.it 8 points 11 months ago

Yeah, I also don't pirate stuff. I'd rather use open source software anyways. And luckily the games I like deserve the money and I can afford to buy them

I know they said the mods were deleting posts about whatever it was but do you have a link to the discussion or proof?

[-] Morgikan@lemm.ee 10 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Bare in mind what OP posted was from 4 months ago, but one of the mods mentions it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PiratedGames/comments/14qvyi3/some_controversy_going_on_at_this_sub/

They acknowledge changes were made, so I would take that as confirmation, but that whole group/sub kind of cringey. Posts do get deleted by mods but users also make a lot of claims without any evidence. I get that most of those people don't have a technical background so its hard to find evidence, but that also maybe is a good reason to make a claim.

EDIT: When I wrote my original comment, I used "Apparently" and "Allegedly" synonymously. I understand if anyone wants to call me out on that, but doesn't seem right changing what I wrote (seems like that would be covering).

[-] zaknenou@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 11 months ago

I'd like to line with the "posts are getting deleted randomly" party. I mean the only thing not being deleted at this point is the memes, the cringe worthy memes. no discussions (unless very basic) or guides are flourishing on that subreddit anymore. and besides why stay on reddit in the first place if it is the reason they must act like this?

[-] CorrodedCranium@leminal.space 1 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

The tip toeing around stuff definitely does get tiring but I think some people just flock there because there's a lot of people and Reddit still dominates search results

[-] zaknenou@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 11 months ago

I mean why didn't the mods migrate the sub here? like dbzer0 did here.

[-] CorrodedCranium@leminal.space 1 points 11 months ago

There could be a few reasons beyond what I already mentioned. A lot of people thought the blackout on Reddit was a trend or unnecessary and that wasn't helped when Reddit forced a lot of subs to reopen.

I'm not sure though. I wonder if they have a post addressing it

[-] MonkderZweite@feddit.ch 8 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Keyloggers? On an internet forum? What for?

[-] 7Sea_Sailor@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 11 months ago
[-] MonkderZweite@feddit.ch 7 points 11 months ago

of forum messages? No danger.

[-] Lemmchen@feddit.de 6 points 11 months ago

In software posted there, not in the forum software itself.

In 2023, 'cuck' is seemingly the greatest insult you can apply to a person.

Followed only by 'poopyhead'.

[-] DemBoSain@midwest.social 14 points 11 months ago

Friar Cuck

Cuckleberry Finn

Cuck (character from A Midsummer Night's Dream)

Cuck Hunter (excellent game included with original NES consoles)

[-] Crozekiel@lemmy.zip 6 points 11 months ago

This comment is gold.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 4 points 11 months ago

Cookie Cuckold

[-] uriel238 8 points 11 months ago

While I think the world is enriched by people who get joy from their partners having crazy sex with others, cuckoo birds are a menace to all of aviankind, to the point that they other birds will hue and cry to chase them out of dodge.

[-] revv 7 points 11 months ago

Outside of a kink context, its use is a pretty great indicator that the person using it is a hateful moron who thinks they're"winning" if someone is "triggered." Basically the online equivalent of a pair of truck nuts.

In that respect, I'm grateful for its prevalence as it saves me a lot of time/energy that would otherwise be spent dealing with assholes.

[-] LocustOfControl@reddthat.com 58 points 11 months ago

I'm out of the loop here, what's this about?

[-] harry_balzac@lemmy.world 160 points 11 months ago

Empress is considered the best Denuvo cracker in the world. Mostly because she's the only one that is consistently successful.

There are two major trains of thought regarding her. The first: she's a batshit crazy narcissist who is more toxic than a Kardashian-Jenner family dinner where Kanye and Pete Davidson show up unannounced. The second: she's the goddess and the most wonderful woman on the planet and one day she'll recognize my loyalty and I will have a place in her New World Order.

[-] Socsa@sh.itjust.works 103 points 11 months ago

You forgot to mention the part where she is violently transphobic

[-] Shayeta@feddit.de 31 points 11 months ago
[-] SLaSZT@kbin.social 38 points 11 months ago

Yeah, she basically wants all gay and trans people to die. Her .NFOs in her releases are completely unhinged and really into the “anti-woke” culture war.

[-] Shayeta@feddit.de 15 points 11 months ago

I see, hate speech.

[-] Tattorack@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Oh, I never read nfo files, so I never knew. ^^;

[-] noobdoomguy8658@feddit.de 59 points 11 months ago

She's also definitely Russian, and we, Russians, believe that it's a guy.

There's no women on the Internet.

[-] harry_balzac@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

Wait...so there really aren't hot MILFs in my area waiting to chat with me?

[-] noobdoomguy8658@feddit.de 3 points 11 months ago

You should check for sure and let us all now. For the boys.

[-] harry_balzac@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

They are a curious lot. They all seem interested in my debit card information. That must they're into me, right?

[-] noobdoomguy8658@feddit.de 2 points 11 months ago

Right, 100%! They're just trying to see if you're going to be able to sustain yourself and their relationship. No harm there, I'm sure; actually seems like a sign of serious intentions.

[-] WarmApplePieShrek@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 11 months ago

If she was a Russian guy she would have died in Ukraine.

[-] Tattorack@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

What was it the rules of the internet again?

TITS or GTFO.

There's also Girl = Guy In Real Life.

[-] screamname@lemmy.dbzer0.com 41 points 11 months ago

I wouldn't be surprised if Empress is a group of two or more people. At least one to handle the "persona" of Empress and the rest to do the cracking. Artificial personas and obfuscated identities are Internet 101.

[-] harry_balzac@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

Could also be one person with multiple personalities. It would explain a lot.

[-] sir_reginald@lemmy.world 25 points 11 months ago

she's providing games for free, who cares if she's a narcissist.

[-] Holzkohlen@feddit.de 62 points 11 months ago

You skipped past the batshit crazy part, eh? I would not trust any software she has touched, but you do you.

[-] JadenSmith@sh.itjust.works 10 points 11 months ago

I'm still waiting for her rap album though, ngl it might slap.
