What client, if any, do you guys use on your phone? I've been using Jerboa, but it has its problems so I'm wondering if there's a better option?

Connect is the best for me so far.

[-] ItsWizardTime@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Connect has been great. jerboa was rough when I tried it weeks ago.

[-] kamenlady@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

i'm waiting for Sync for Lemmy, but Connect has been pretty good so far

[-] HaveYouPaidYourDues@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I liked connect, but it has been crashing since saturday for me. I'm using thunder right now and it works pretty well

I second liftoff. Great app

[-] AlpacaChariot@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I can't believe how good Liftoff is considering the speed of development

[-] Spacebar@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

It's close to RIF for me.

Also, the release after next will have MOD features, so I'm happy with that.

[-] DontTreadOnBigfoot@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

I alternate between Connect and Jerboa

Waiting for Sync, though

[-] PaulDevonUK@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Thunder.

Like most, it is on development but updates aren't too far apart.

[-] hydroel@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I like Thunder best so far. I find Jerboa ugly and clunky, Voyager's interface is iOS focused and I don't think any other ones outside of LiftOff are open source - why use closed source services when good open source ones work just as well? I like LiftOff as well, I just like Thunder a bit more.

Technically Voyager has an appearance setting that you can change to Android.

In practice I can't tell the difference.

[-] leraje@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

I'm currently using LiftOff. It's not perfect but it feels more stable than Jerboa to me.

[-] Sshaggy@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Been usimg Lift off with minimal errors

[-] Trev625@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Jerboa gave me a bunch of issues but Connect seems to be working for me.

[-] Bluefruit@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Yea i started with Jerboa but Connect seems better. I used RIF before and i would say both are similar but Connect just feels better and feels more stable.

[-] AToM_exe@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I also started with Jerboa and use Connect at the moment. Jerboa had connection problems and constantly logged me out. Connect has a much better interface, but I liked the blurred nsfw preview from Jerboa more.

Try out wefwef.app

It's an Apollo clone

[-] blacklizardplanet@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Wefwef/Voyager. I didn't like the iOS look but the new update has an android appearance(beta).

Though I do really like Liftoff too. I float between both of those after trying what seems like 2.4 million apps.

I'm using Liftoff at the moment and I much prefer it to Jerboa so far. I used to use Boost for Reddit so I'm hoping that it's even better when it comes out, but I don't have any real complaints with Liftoff.

I'm hanging out for Sync for Lemmy now that the dev is pivoting from Reddit, will be a month away though so using via Chrome on mobile for now.

Same boat as me. Been a sync user for 9 years. Can't wait to have it back

[-] RealThunderhop@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Voyager (formerly known as wef wef) web app

[-] Klear@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I lost all interest in wefwef when they changed the name. Voyager is so generic...

[-] RealThunderhop@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

That seems like an odd reason, but you are welcome to your opinion. I will say it still seems like the best app feature wise irrelevant of the name.

[-] double_brown@lemmy.nz 4 points 1 year ago

Any clones of RIF? I'm trying various clients but I used to use RIf for 6 years and really like it.

[-] MrBobDobalina@lemmy.nz 3 points 1 year ago

I'm trying a bunch and currently thinking Liftoff feels best... I'm definitely hoping for a 'Lemmy is Fun' at some point, nothing else feels right after so long on RiF

[-] Dave@lemmy.nz 3 points 1 year ago

There's a list of Android clients here: https://lemmy.nz/post/8104

Download some and see if any are similar!

Jerboa, but I honestly think the problems are server-side.

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Most of them are at this point.

[-] sortofblue@lemmy.nz 4 points 1 year ago

Connect user here. Development has been really fast and the dev is super friendly and good at taking suggestions on board quickly.

[-] phalanx@lemmy.nz 4 points 1 year ago

Using Liftoff myself and have settled on it after trying a few. Waiting for Sync for Lemmy to drop given the awesome Sync for Reddit app.

[-] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Jerboa for me. All the apps have errors but Jerboa has been consistently the best for me. A lot of the errors are server side I believe.

[-] IntegrationLabGod@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

I'm using Connect. It reminds me a bit of Infinity for Reddit.

[-] SamC@lemmy.nz 3 points 1 year ago

Have tried Jerboa, Connect and now on wefwef, which so far is definitely the best

[-] ClaretNBlue@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I've used a few so far including Jerboa, Liftoff, Connect and Thunder and i have to admit that all are decent clients and I guess its somewhat down to personal preference, but I prefer Connect or Thunder.

[-] TronLives@lemmy.nz 2 points 1 year ago

I started on Jerboa and now giving Connect a go

[-] absGeekNZ@lemmy.nz 2 points 1 year ago

I was using boost for Reddit, they have announced that they are porting it to Lemmy....so I'll stick with Jerboa until Boost is released.
