I mean, upside-down flying birds are strange, and figuring out why strange things happen often gives valuable insights. They could think about an issue like Gaza, but social phenomenon in nonhuman animals can reveal universal truths about even human behavior. Besides, I prefer low stakes stories over, "uplifting," news about billionaires buying PR, or someone being the exception to the rule of systemic injustice.
