They did exactly that! Just like the US always frames its bombing of children overseas as "defending our nation/democracy". There's a reason they all use the same playbook.
As someone raised in a Jewish family whose family tree is half-gone because of the Holocaust, it's a special kind of depressing to see the lesson these people took away from the Sho'ah was simply a blueprint for oppression.

If we understand the US government as a capitalist-imperialist (and currently fascist) entity, we see the items you listed are antithetical to it.
If we understand the actual people of this country to comprise "America", we see those items are in fact pro-American. They're all predicated on helping the community.
The trick comes when the govt positions their power structure and nationalist narrative as being the only legitimate representation of what the country "should be". Now these items are suddenly "anti-American" when the reality is that they have the best interests of the country's citizens in mind; whereas the administration's interest lies in perpetuating the power structure above all else, at the citizens' expense.

I think the United States has always been fascist, in retrospect, despite the word not having yet been coined upon founding. The fasces, or some variation thereof, appears in numerous official symbols, printed and otherwise displayed in so many places, from currency to buildings. I think capitalism always held the goal of its own imperialist (now fascist) objectives. The founders weren't against taxes, or poverty, or brutal exploitation, and crushing poverty of people, they were just against it for themselves.
But they had to cap like ~~modos~~ mofos to get the unwashed, rag-clad, barefoot masses to fight their revolution. I'm recalling what's known of how Washington described his troops, and how Castro and Guevara didn't.
Sometimes I try to hedge my words, to make these ideas more palatable for anyone reading who hasn't yet found themselves on the left side of things... but I completely agree with you.
