Likud’s depiction of Zohran Mamdani is latest move in spat between Israel’s prime minister and New York City mayor

Benjamin Netanyahu’s party has compared the New York City mayor, Zohran Mamdani, to the leaders of Iran and Hezbollah on a campaign billboard.

The billboard in central Tel Aviv depicts Mamdani alongside the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, and the chief of the militant group Hezbollah, Naim Qassem.

“They want Netanyahu to lose … Don’t let them win,” says the poster featuring the logo of Netanyahu’s rightwing Likud party.

Netanyahu has entered campaign mode to keep his far-right coalition in power after the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, was dissolved in July before elections in October – the first since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023.

Oh noes! He's fixing roads and wants people to be able to buy groceries! The horror! The absolute horror!

Reminds me of Zelenskyy posters Orban was putting everywhere before losing the elections, trying to paint Ukraine as the enemy to get more points

Hell, he even had similar posters of George Soros! 🤦🏻😄

Sounds pretty racist to me.

It’s shit like this that reassures me about the evils of our world.

Isn’t it funny how the worse people on the planet tend to be sooo similar to each other?

As complex as the human brain is, it's interesting how people tend toward various specific archetypes. You'd think everyone would be very different from one another, but we're all really similar to someone.

Mamdani alongside the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

Now that's just too far!

What an ungrateful leader Netanyahu is. He should be thanking the US every day.

[-] sns@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 9 hours ago

He should be spending the rest of his life in prison.

Yes. This is the better point.

My conspiracy hat thinks that he is a puppet and already planned to "save" America after Trump's done being used for the cias (or 5 eyes) agenda. He's the good cop, Trump's the bad cop, but in the grand scheme they are both working on the same goal, which they probably don't even know about because intelligence agencies globally own the paths of nations and are the ones running the business.

Our freedom and democracy is a manipulated illusion.

The fuck are you talking about

My conspiracy hat.

[-] Hegar@fedia.io 8 points 10 hours ago

Newsom is the good cop, if we're looking for a figure who says he's against trump but is deeply wedded to the very same plans the rich have for this dying empire.

Also your conspiracy hat gives the cia too much credit - they're not compitent enough to be in charge. An ever-shifting alliance of whichever rich people are most powerful from week to week is who's in charge.

Have you ever met a large group of people that can keep even the smallest secret? Imagine a global network of puppet masters that nobody knows about, not even the puppets, and tell me that that shit doesn't spill out very publicly.

This is an insane and unjustifiable conspiracy theory. It's more likely that 9/11 was an inside job, and it wasn't.
