I don't think it's fair to highlight that some pro athletes are horrible people as a mark against them being paid well as there are horrible people in every profession. Otherwise I agree with your first paragraph 100%. I will say that because they make enough to live extremely comfortably for the rest of their lives that it's difficult to argue that they should get more of the cut, even if it's revenue generated off of their work.

Oof I couldn't disagree more. By that thought, artists, musicians, and any other entertainers are worth nothing, and that's just wrong. Do you think that professional musicians shouldn't make lots of money as well? What about actors or the people that work in theater production? Is that whole industry worth nothing as well?

They wouldn't make so much money if they didn't generate that much money. They're paid what they're worth, if not underpaid given their contribution to the total revenue of a club, IMO.

I was just discussing the event the other day, and said when it happens I will buy a flag pole, an American flag, and raise it to full staff. It will be up as long as the half staff order is active, then I will take it down and sell it or trash it. There will be zero ambiguity in my actions.

Unfortunately, not paying taxes isn't really an option. If there's one thing the government enjoys doing and does well is collect taxes, regardless of how failed that government is. The broken government is more likely to be extra shitty on the penalty though, unless you're rich of course, in which case you don't have to pay taxes.

Reddit has been around for 20 years and Lemmy not near as long. Reddit didn't really hit it big until Digg screwed the pooch driving away users around 2010. I don't see Lemmy hitting Reddit number probably ever, but reddit is one of the highest trafficked sites on the web. Lemmy is steadily growing, but I think to many non users, federation and instances is a confusing prospect, so they never try. As it grows, I would imagine it will get easier or at least clearer for the layman and the velocity of growth will increase due to that and a larger user base as a whole.

We need to stop calling them centrists and call a spade a spade. They're conservatives, plain and simple.

Hillary... You're barely a has-been at best, and Bill cuck at worst. Kindly fuck off into obscurity and even more irrelevance, nobody wants to hear your dog shit, conservative opinion.

It's just too bad there wasn't one of those responsible gun owners around to prevent terrorists from kidnapping a civilian. Speaking of, where are all of these gun toting Americans that believe they have them to defend America? Fucking cowards.

The fact that you so prominently brought up the notion that she may have voted for the actions brought upon her implies that you believe she did and this is leopards eating faces. Even if unintentional, that's how it reads in the first place. Your response is doubling down on that and digs you a deeper hole. It sounds an awful lot like baseless victim blaming.
