As if they would let you download the patches from their website like 20 years ago.

And no DRM? I don't believe it. Like never!

If there is the slightest online DRM this release is worthless. Sadly the article isn't very clear on this.

But if it really has not DRM and the patches are freely available to download there is no reason to not release it on gog for example.

DRM free is my only reason to pay, but I don't want to go back to physical media.

Physical media has never precluded DRM, quite the opposite it has constituted part of it.

I'd say there is a decent chance this will release on GOG, if not straight away, given the last few games have all ended up there (the newer trilogy plus the remasters of the older games).

Same here, often have to play on steam already while waiting for the dvd to arrive. I'm most proud of the physical release I got of the movie. It short circuited the tv from across the room.
