The rest of the world is doing its part, but accidents and deaths have increased in the United States. I guess that makes us one of the “poorer countries”.

I wonder if it’s due to using older, less safe vehicles, infrastructure, or something else?
I would assume primarily increasing rates of automobile use for poor countries
The US is the exception that road deaths are increasing due to larger vehicles, and increasingly little infrastructure for pedestrians and bicyclists
