Cover your ears and eyebrows too, kids. Those are also unique enough to identify you. Beanies are an excellent choice for all of the above, and are generic and common enough to be bloc. Leave phones at home.

If you've got boobs, wear a sports bra. Wear good running shoes. Bring two water bottles (one for drinking, one for tear gas). Have an escape plan and a rendezvous point with your comrades if shit goes south. Make sure everyone knows what to do, who to call, and where to look if someone doesn't show up for the post-action headcount.

STICK TOGETHER.

Why bring an id? And having the number on your arm probably makes you distinguishablr as well

[-] erev@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

You bring an ID because you will be peocessed far quicker with an ID if arrested.

Your arms should be covered anyways but you write your local NLG chapter"s number on multiple places on your body as police have been known to use hand sanitizer to remove it from your arms so you can't call for help. Writing it in a nonvisible spot like your thigh as well as your arm can be extremely helpful.

I believe they mix terribly with tear gas.

Good to know

Bad times with tear gas or other chemicals, heard stories of people getting them stuck with things like acetone vapours alone on top of it probably making it harder to rinse your eyes.

Honestly, people should be preparing with full face respirators that they've practiced using (and they're useful to have around anyhow)

Your head should be completely covered to be honest.

Helmet, full face covering, eye protection. Nitrile gloves too

Those inflatable costumes were inventive

If you're writing the NLG # on your arm, take the extra 30s to write "Shut the fuck up" above and below it.

If they have you and are taking your id, youre already in their custody, i imagine this helps (somewhat) in a couple ways: proving youre a citizen, not being lost in the system "accidentally," things like that. Plus, if youre incapacitated for some reason like the other poster said. I cant really think of any downside. Youre not getting out without proving who you are, and the more you make that a pain for them the more theyre likely to take it out on you.

What if you pretend you have amnesia? :D

Maybe so National Lawyer's Guild Minnesota knows the name in case of their new client needing representation before regaining consciousness? 🤷🏻

Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.
