Count Binface is the only serious candidate.

If anyone that can vote in the Clacton election is reading this I have a request.

Please do the funny thing, I need this, keeping up with the news is so dark and this would make so many of us so very happy for Count Bin face to hold a victory press conference.

I genuinely think that Binface would be a better MP than Farage. That's a low bar actually — perhaps it would be better to say that I think he'd actually be a better than average MP. Some people have gotten all pissy about Count Binface, saying that he is making a mockery of British elections, but the reason why it's effective satire is because British politics is already a shit show; I'd argue that someone putting so much effort into trying to highlight this is someone who is actually taking the whole thing pretty seriously, and that Count Binface probably respects the system and the voters way more than Farage and his ilk

I'm not from there but you know considering the mess we're in why not? Although I do think that it would be really funny if he took off his head and it was that Donald Trump Goofy haired fucker

I'm not from there, but I looked it up and we do actually know who Count Binface is under the mask; he's a comedian named Jonathan David Harvey. He seems better than Nigel, anyway.

[-] xangadix@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Not from there either, but I second this. I really think we all can do with a good laugh at Farage s expense

Rob Pownall revealed to Metro last week he was planning to stand in the vote in an effort to draw attention to the plight of British wildlife and Farage’s support for fox hunting.

Oh, I genuinely thought this was going to be a furry thing.

[-] justaman123@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

It can be both

[-] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 week ago

Every furry event I've ever been to is a non-profit event with the proceeds going to an animal or human rights organization, usually with a fundraiser auction at the end.

[-] pomegranatefern@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

Oh, that's really sweet!

(To be clear: I'm not casting shade on furries with my comment, nor implying that there isn't an overlap between furry subculture and animal rights. I'm just saying that I was expecting the story here to be someone fursuitting on main and was surprised that it wasn't.)

[-] Hubi@feddit.org 6 points 1 week ago

It certainly looks like a furry thing tbf

[-] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 week ago

Not with a cheap aliexpress suit like that

[-] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Now now that's a little gatekeepy.

[-] cadekat@pawb.social 4 points 1 week ago

You 100% definitely do not need a suit to be a furry, but if you're gonna get one, have a little pride...

[-] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

He's got the rep tie and the ribbon to customize it, that's a sona in my book if the foxxo wants it to be.

[-] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

'I'm not a furry but' --every person that is about to announce their fursona

[-] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

I'm not a furry but I'm furry

The more this temper tantrum by-election turns into the circus, the funnier it gets.

[-] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 21 points 1 week ago

I hope that count binface runs on a policy of requiring candidates that resign and then run again as being responsible for the election cost.

And, of course, that investigations of impropriety don’t pause when there is a reeelection. Rather they become more transparent, releasing all available information that is pertinent.

[-] alibloke@feddit.uk 2 points 1 week ago

But then if a candidate paid for the by-election they would be paying for voting officials, counters, etc and that can easily lead to all sorts of wrong doing. No wonder Farage's offer to pay was turned down

[-] expatriado@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

is he coming back as elephant or lion? which are more circus appropriate
