Only half? Seems low
Half are potential, the other half are verified
I would have thought that membership counted as a form of verification, here.
No that's not correct.
Ah yes, the most important criterion for humor: correctness.
Are you German?
Yes, Germany bad.
The implication was that Germans don't have any sense of humor. It seems that you've done nothing to disillusion us of that trope.
Yes Germany bad. The implication is that you're peddling negative stereotypes.
Your complete lack of capacity for self-reflection is impressive.
I think the same of you.
🙄
Please stop with the prejudice, that's all I'm asking you.
someone makes a joke about germans not having a sense of humor and you claim Germanity responding this way, i'm not sure if you're part of the joke or being joked about dude.
the most important part of humor is being able to laugh at yourself (it's where the best jokes come from). Germans not having a sense of humor is low hanging fruit, but like if you don't want to be treated like a stereotype you can't act like a stereotype.
Laughing at yourself as an individual, yes. Laughing at yourself as a person that belongs to a group like nationality, race, sexual orientation, no. Nobody should have to care about whether they fit someone else's negative stereotype just because of their assumed nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity.
while i agree, we aren't quite in an ideal world yet. so we do have to worry about fitting their stereotypes.
🙄
:(
Nein, der Witz ist, dass Deutsche keinen Humor hätten. Das ist aber nur trizen und nicht ernst gemeint.
In dem Fall ist's fast noch witziger, weil du den Witz erst genommen hast. Nimm das nicht übel. ^^
I don't like it when people throw stereotypes around whenever they get the opportunity. You sound like you internalized the stereotype and find it funny
Oh the irony
A friend had his American friend come to visit him last year and they had me over to chill.
At some point he told a joke that didn't land and excused himself over nothing. So I said, completly straight faced, "Oh, I'm sorry, that was really funny, this is just how we laugh around here".
It was probably funnier in the moment, but the next ten minutes was me trying to keep a straight face while he was trying to get me to laugh. We were both in on the joke and it was hysterical.
Like, this is by all means a dumb stereotype. But it's pretty harmless. And if you laugh at it, it literally disproves itself.
The other half are confirmed nazis
German intellegence say forks found in kitchens
…and gets 30% in one county
very scary
It's shameful there's not already a prosecution and ban process in progress.
The „German intelligence“ in this case seems to be common sense.
while it's probably accurate ish on this article
is not times of israel an untrustworthy source?
Why though? Israel is currently governed by genocidal far-right extremists. They probably know what they're talking about.
Technically all of them are potential far right extremists.
Has anyone in there even looked at their proposals?
No. The average AfD voter will scream in your face and call you a liar and spreader of fake news when you read them verbatim from the AfD's program. It's the exact same as for all the other far-right cults where sanity has left the building a long time ago.
The other reaction I've encountered is: "They just say that to get attention, they don't actually want to do those things."
Uh yeah, that's the reason why the party is being observed by the BfV in the first place.
It is known. That is why 30% of the German people want them in power. Old habits.
And that is precisely why its neighbors should view Germany's rearmament with suspicion.
and thats why russia supports them, old habbits. I mean they can reuse their old maps to split eastern europe
And that is precisely why its neighbors should view Germany’s rearmament with suspicion.
I don't know if this was your intention, but "with suspicion" reads like "it's being done for the AfD rather than "with concern" which would be read like not for the AfD but with potential effect/gain for the AfD. At least I read it like that.
Same for the French, Swedish, Polish people. Their neighbors should treat their armament with great suspicion.
If the AfD remains this popular, it is more likely that the German armed forces will be used in the near future to help Russia than to defend Europe against a new Russian invasion.
Or the future French armed forces under their extreme right-wing party. Also the extreme extreme right wing in Poland (Konfederacja) would help Russia. Trust nobody.
As for the French, it may well be true that the RN is capable of winning the next elections, yes. But Poland's Konfederacja is still far from attaining power.
Old French habits then?
Yes, after the Germans and the Russians, they are the ones with a track record of causing severe damage across vast areas of the European continent in the relatively recent past.
The last major war Portugal had to fight defensively on its own soil was during the Napoleonic invasions. We have not forgotten.
Indeed, it is France we need to watch out for. AfD and Konfederacja are both far from attaining power. AfD and Konfederacja will never have a majority or is unlikely find coalition partners.
CDU will welcome AfD with open arms as soon as they secure a minority majority, just as their predecessors did.
Why are the so likely to do that? I'm not am expert.
Because CDU will continue trying to win over voters further to the right, and to that end, they will tend to keep adopting positions further to the right until they become increasingly indistinguishable from the far-right.
Let's hope that PiS doesn't do the same! I can see them supporting Russia against Ukraine if this wins them elections since Ukraine is putting UIA on a pedestal.
don't take these polls to serious, remeber those who are unhappy are most willing to participate and voice their anger, and the AfD party is 99% anger. Normal people will just ignore pollsters, so the real number is hopefully lower
This is a delusional and dangerous as hell perspective to take.
