I really love both seasons. You just have to find reasons to love it. For winter its sledding, snowball fights, snowboarding and hot drinks. For summer its swimming, sun bathing, icecream, and bbqs. Then spring and fall are perfect for sports and hiking and stuff

after that snowcrete we had here in the midlantic, I swore I'd never complain about the heat again. It's tough, but I'm holding to my promise. (It's only 98 out so far.)

[-] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Is snowcrete melted+refrozen snow?

[-] Ravenheart@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 hours ago

Texan here. Winter used to be a nice break from our hot, humid, miserable summers. Now some years I don't even need to wear a jacket. It's just hot all year round now. I hate it.

I love snow!

[-] darthelmet@lemmy.world 7 points 5 hours ago

The only season I can enjoy outside is Fall. Summer is too hot, Winter is too cold, and I get allergies in the Spring.

Fall is perfect.

Here in Australia I'm hosting a snow trip next week.. there is still no snow in the mountains where we're goin

Also f summer. Hayfever and bushfires suck

[-] adhdsergio@lemmy.world 17 points 13 hours ago

There's no limit to how many layers I can wear in winter, but there's a limit to how many I can take off in the summer. Simple as

You don't have a knife? They're not nearly as expensive as a good coat.

[-] Honytawk@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 5 hours ago

Even with a knife scraping off everything that makes you human, you will eventually encounter a limit.

And eventually the coats will crush you, create their own weather system, collapse into a black hole. What's your point?

[-] mursejoy@lemmy.zip 9 points 12 hours ago

This is everyone in Arizona in the summer. β€œAt least there is no windshield scraping!”

AZ people are delusional.

Peggy Hill was right

Phoenix is a monument to the hubris of man.

[-] mursejoy@lemmy.zip 5 points 7 hours ago

Phoenix and Vegas are competing for worst place to build gigantic cites.

[-] InputZero@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

Amen! I may not believe in a god but if I did, it's obvious that land was not meant for humans.

[-] Honytawk@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 5 hours ago

Ooh, Arizona, sounds exotic!

Where is that? Somewhere in Africa?

[-] J230@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 hours ago

*Everyone in Southern AZ

The high desert portions of the state like Flagstaff and Sedona get snow every year and aren't nearly as bad as the Phoenix valley. It still gets pretty hot but it's not the unmitigated hellhole of constant 100 degree days.

[-] titanicx@lemmy.zip 5 points 14 hours ago

Nah. Heat is way way better.

[-] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 17 points 18 hours ago

Prefer snow to ticks and mosquitoes ngl.

[-] JimVanDeventer@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

My name is Sam McGee.

[-] placebo@lemmy.zip 3 points 13 hours ago

Well, yes, I am glad there is no snow.

[-] Leviathan@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

Oh no, not the time of year where I don't need to wear a bunch of layers and I can sleep outside without dying! What will I ever do? Maybe go for a swim? A bike ride? A hike? A barbecue? Beers in the park? How will I ever make it through this?

[-] Rbnsft@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

No its the time of the year where you cant go outside because 5 min after leaving you have a sunburn and are sweat drenched. Oh and insider your flat its way to hot.. Even If you are naked. Climate change fucks us.

I love summer, but you have to do it right. Going to the store and walking across a hot blacktop parking lot is asking for a bad time.

Hanging out in a park, going for hike, swimming, hitting the beach, more daylight hours, ice cream, grilling and admiring the greenery. That's peak life on Earth 🌎🌍

[-] Gahidus@lemmus.org 14 points 18 hours ago

All of those things happen outside in the blistering heat with the sun beating down on you as your sweat makes your clothes stick to your body. No thanks. You can also do them all far better in spring or fall.

[-] Echolynx@lemmy.zip 9 points 18 hours ago

Heat index was about 42Β°C and humid today. Just being outside for 30 seconds was miserable, let alone walking. Can't even think about any outdoor activities.
