Comparing to Apollo, the haptic feedback in Memmy is more intense when taking action like voting. Apollo gives you just enough to know you’ve taken action, and Memmy feels like someone is flicking my phone with their finger.

If I had to guess, I’d say Apollo is soft and light, and Memmy is heavy and rigid. [https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/playing-haptics](Apple’s HIG for Taptic Engine for reference.)

For me, the difference is at worst mildly unpleasant feeling, but I also use the app before getting out of bed in the morning, and the Memmy haptic audibly resonates through my mattress and has woken up my wife. She is admittedly a light sleeper! I think there’s also a trivial impact to battery.

I propose that this be dialed back in Memmy to levels similar to Apollo, except perhaps when you’ve transitioned to slide to downvote. I could still envision it being useful there.

Yes, and for collapsing comments, it would be great if we could turn the haptic feedback off altogether

Ah, yes! I hadn’t noticed that for some reason.

I didn’t use Apollo so can’t make the comparison but I like how intense the haptics are. I do have keyboard haptics turned on though.
