i think the image size limit has been reduced some time ago, because of this i've encountered various situations where i had to manually compress images to be able to upload them. i think the size limit is at around 800kb, at least based on my experience. is there a way that images could be compress upon upload to avoid this? i genuiley rather have them look like a blurry mess than to have to edit them manually.

We don't wanna bundle a whole image compression library into the browser, so these have to be compressed beforehand.

i would hate images to be a blurry mess and the pixel rot that comes along with it.

it was an exageration, you can achieve fairly good image compression without that much loss of quality, and anyway the content being uploaded now is compressed because you basically can't upload a lossless file like .png because of upload size restrictions.
