Cliff Diver (lemmy.world)

The scenery is from a reference but there was no diver. I added her. Does she look like she belongs? Feedback?

That ocean looks yummy.

Edit: I like the diver BTW. Helps with scale.

You always had a thing with composition (IMO the hardest and most important in any artwork), nice to see the progress with all the rest you are making, fantastic!

I feel like the water looks a bit shallow to be diving, but I can't explain why. Love the work.

Probably is, the diver needs to make better life choices.

Yes. My first thought before even realizing that this wasn't a real picture was: this person is going to hit their hed and fucking die.

I love how bright everything is. The diver definitely belongs and helps anchor the eye to the scene.

Maybe she's really a little further back where the water is blue and deeper and she'll be fine. I like the way you have the water colors, it works really well.

That's what I imagined when I painted her. But it's hard to tell depth or hard for me to portray it when she's in mid air.

absolutely gorgeous!

somehow the ocean waves seem to be more in motion than the diver, making her stand out—reflecting on the cause of this reverse display of velocity inspires me to profound questions what it is supposed to tell me

well done!

Lighting feels correct, she belongs in the scene.

I haven't slept well so I'm not in a state to put words on my feelings...

I really like this. There is something about it. Something good, and nice. Thank you for sharing. Much love.

Love it, thank you! ♥️

I still haven't slept yet but I have some more words.

I think it's the way she's voluntarily hurtling herself towards grave danger, and before making contact with the danger, she's at peace. She's floating. She's levitating. She's enjoying the short moment shared between her and gravity. The moment immediately following this one might not be nice at all. It might end in injury even. But it's worth the risk just to get to be in the moment before that. This moment.

Amazing. You should be proud of this one. 🙌

That's just lovely! Your words are beautiful.

If you aren't sure if your work is NSFW or not, just ask yourself, "Could I look at this at a typical office job and not get into trouble?" If you're still not sure after that, you should probably mark it as NSFW just to be on the safe side.
