I was hired full time! (self.littlewins)
submitted 1 week ago by rockSlayer to c/littlewins

For the last several months, I've been working as an intern with the hopes I'd find a full time position because I love the work. There was one created, and I was encouraged to apply by my manager. I was hired! This position doubles my salary!

Fuckyeah!

What's the position? I assume it's closely related to your internship?

Yes it is, I'm hired as a data analyst working on genetic data

Nice! Enjoy... don't blow up your current budget. Create a 'vacation' fund with some of the extra $$.. and actually go on vacation.

Oh for sure! This week I'm planning a budget and next month I meet with my financial advisor

Gratz - glad to hear you made it onto the ladder!

I'm glad to hear that happened to you! I had a similar thing happen to me as well; I'm glad to see intern/temp-to-full-time-hire work out for other people too. And it's always nice to get paid to do something you like. The daily grind is still a grind in terms of getting up and going for me, but once I actually get there, I'm given the external motivation/pressure I need to actually get me to do the fun things I like (though my value of fun may be a little odd, I absolutely belong in and enjoy posting on !dullsters@dullsters.net).
