I heard Wab Kinew on the radio say the NDP will build permeant flood protections in Peguis by this summer. Hopefully he follows through because it sounds like its really needed
Hmm. I'd think that would be federal jurisdiction, so I'll be interested to see what comes of that. It doesn't seem like the sort of thing he would pay around with.
Yeah I guess we'll see. It reminds me of how he committed to building a seniors home in Lac du Bonnet. He actually followed through with that one so hopefully this will play out similarly, though of course this is a much more ambitious project
Global warming might be pushing moisture into the air up here. Just a warning, Canada will turn into a swamp in a lot of places once our deep ground starts to thaw so it might be useful to keep that in mind for the future.
