Pool noodles are foam, and repel water. They're also sturdy. I dont think this idea is that crazy, but it would be impractical to build one.

Takes up too much space when compacted. Meanwhile a 1 person tent is a liter or less.

Describing non-liquid things by volume of the material when compacted gives me the same vibes as that soda from Parks and Rec called "child" size because it was the same volume of a blended up child. 😥
