You should pay more attention.
To a kid with textbook ADHD.
And that thing hasn't changed at all in 25+ years, i still get it and my daughter gets it as well in school.

Every time I explain how I have difficulties, I get asked:
I can't think of the others, but I've heard them all (as I'm sure you have).
And I have to say: YES. I HAVE TRIED ALL THE THINGS.
(And I have found some things that work for some of the things, at least some of the time)
My significant other and I like to routinely say that to each other in fake, over the top, condescending tones at each other when one of us is struggling a little extra with ADHD. Makes us both laugh.
"Don't think about it."
That one is great but I find it annoyingly difficult sometimes.
As a 17 year old working at a gas station, I'm looking to buy a used car for less than the price of a 24 pack of Natty Ice. "Ohhhh... I can help. There's a BMW dealership right over there!'' - Some Rich Asshole
"aw thanks! just bring me the keys and title once you have one secured for me"
Not directly mental health but.. related i suppose.
Someone who found out I suffer from chronic headaches told me the cure for headaches is holding your hand in a bowl of ice water until it goes numb. (They, of course, had not actually tried this, or they likely wouldn't have said anything)
No for several reasons
1,6,7 are the biggies.
Note for fellow headache/ migraine sufferers:
I did recently get a specific pink film (fl-41 in the lightest opacity) coating on my glasses that has made a truly huge difference. Everything is pink, but it fucking works! I’m gunna get my next pair in the darkest tint and use them in place of sunglasses due to light sensitivity. Don’t buy them on amazon; they probably aren't the real coating. Go to an actual optometrist.
"Just don't worry so much." Cool, thanks! I'm cured!
No bro, turns out when you have undiagnosed ADHD and life is really hard, you start developing crippling anxiety. Who knew? Oh right, doctors, not parents who can't acknowledge their own mental health issues...
