I'm satisfied with my Formbot Trident kit. Looks like they have addressed most of the shortcomings I felt my kit had when I purchased it about 6 months ago. If you go with it you may want to pick up spare hotend and part cooling fans as the ones shipped with it are pretty poor quality. My hotend fan didn't even last a month.
Thanks for your detailed reply and advices! Have a great day!
It seems like the current consensus is they are shipping a decent BOM, but brace for potential wire breaks in the future.
Ok! That is good to know, any specific reason why the wires break? Bad wire quality?
Wire quality is likely the cause, but wire breaks will inevitably happen in a cable chain. For wires in cable chain, wire strand (more = better) and insulation material (PRFE = pretty good, PVC = meh) are the things that matter.
Alright! Thanks :-)
I built one about a year ago and it's been great. At that point they didn't include a lot of the stuff they do now, so my SB/CW2, nevermore, chamber LEDs, etc. were sourced separately and I didn't use most of what they provided for the hot end
Ok! Thanks for the reply! What hotend did you installed instead?
I did the dragon HF, my kit came with whatever was before stealthburner and I bought an upgrade kit from 3dwest and went straight to that, so I never used the formbot fans and motor
Alright! Thanks
