Whee. El Niño is definirely better for me and mine - fewer strong hurricanes in the Atlantic basic, fewer hurricanes making landfall on the east coast. And my family in DFW faces less severe weather / tornadoes, although more rain.

I feel bad for the areas that suffer, although the back and forth of El Niño and La Niña means it works out alright on averages (ignoring the worsening climate change, which happens regardless of which cycle we're in).

My country mismanaged water policies and infrastructure for decades, so an el Niño means water rationing even though it rains heavily for 6 months each year.
