Today I'm testing another new weenie from BPAL Witch Birds (Blinding-white mallow and vanilla sandalwood streaked with indigo opium pod accord, velvet black violet petals, wild plum, and opoponax.) My husband laughed when I picked this one out because it sounded purple. But purple it is! I have a couple other BPAL "purple" scents so I figured this one would be a hit. It's sweet and powdery floral with a sweet creamy dry down from the vanilla sandalwood. I'm not sure I can pick out notes individually, but it blends to a wonderful sweet purple scent.
Today (10/10), I'm testing a "blend" of Deconstructing Eden Aquarius and Poseidon. I don't know if this is normal or not, but I found that Aquarius smells quite a bit different if I apply it to the crook of my elbow than applied to a "non-bendy" area, like my wrist. Whatever happens in the crook of my elbow is what I prefer, and I think blending with Poseidon might help.
I recently ordered a bunch of Alkemia samples and they should be arriving today. I'm going to have a hard time waiting while they settle for a little bit before I test them.
Okay, my Alkemia samples arrived and I can't wait to start actually testing them. Of course, I sniffed them all out of the vial as soon as they arrived, and I'm pretty excited about several of them. I ordered two 5-packs of sample vials, and it looks like she threw in two extra sample vials as well, wihch was a pleasant surprise. I'll try to remember to report back on how things go with testing these!
I haven't ventured into Alkemia yet, but I've heard good things! I'd love reviews after to test them out.
