If Iran were to destroy Mar A Lago, I think we could let it slide.

They can have all of Florida as far as I'm concerned.

[-] Wilco@lemmy.zip 25 points 2 months ago

Let it slide? No. Medals would need to be given out.

[-] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 2 months ago

Even if it's a target that's not widely popular, it will be used to push policies that hurt the people of the US more.

That's how we got the patriot act.

Trump is just trying to bring more people onto the side of supporting his illegal war on Iran by proposing an unrealistic risk of danger to the U.S.

[-] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 136 points 2 months ago

A danger that he totally incited in the first place by being a bloodthirty moron.

[-] Triumph@fedia.io 42 points 2 months ago

He's trying to do "wag the dog" without a dog.

[-] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 47 points 2 months ago

Is that because Noem murdered it?

[-] BScPsych@sh.itjust.works 57 points 2 months ago

I say he is preparing the people for an ‘act of terror by Iran’, meaning there is going to be a false flag incident. He can then use that to claim war powers and dismantle the last sliver of US-American democracy.

[-] cmbabul@lemmy.world 30 points 2 months ago

That’s a bingo

the problem is that the reason the folks on US soil have such.. douche hubris is because we’ve never got our teeth kicked in because there are a couple of oceans guarding us.

it is only temporary “unrealistic” a danger, Iran will figure it out and another 9/11 will happen and.. queue up the enrollment and bootlicking country songs for 20 years.

All the while … profit, massive profit, is had.

False flag attacks are coming. Mark my words.

[-] duncan_bayne@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago

.... maybe?

With the disclaimer that I'm not at all sad that Khomeini was a casualty, Trump's illegal war against Iran is set to provoke some real attacks in, probably, quite short order.

[-] too_high_for_this@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

Khomeini has been dead for 36 years. Khamenei is the guy who was just killed.

Hilarious watching them push "this isn't a war" over and over again just for Trump to constantly call it a war.

Why would this be a shock to anyone? He let hundreds of thousands of Americans die to covid.

[-] TwilitSky@lemmy.world 39 points 2 months ago

He's super nonchalant about it. This is how politicians actually feel when they know you're struggling/suffering. There is no feeling.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 26 points 2 months ago

He knows when 9/11 happened, Americans shit their pants and threw away all their rights to government.

[-] Man_kind@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 months ago

Of course he is. The people at risk aren't trump, or anyone that risks anything for trump or his family.

If Trump could press a button that would kill 10 million people, maim another 5 million, and make 50 million people go from middle class to abject poverty, in order to give him 10 billion $ and more power, he'd press that button without hesitation.

Total no brainer for him. And Americans are just letting get away with destroying democracy and destroying their freedom, and way of life, so HE can have more.

They seem upset, complain on social media, but do nothing. Not even boycotting. They just sit in their echo chambers. They dont organize. They don't protest on congress' front lawn, they hardly boycott, even after seeing it work for Kimmel.

The citizens of america are failing the world.

Spoken like a man secure in the idea that they won’t make it through to him.

[-] entropiclyclaude@lemmy.wtf 29 points 2 months ago

they’ll either allow an attack or stage one so they have a reason to skip the midterms.

[-] Akasazh@lemmy.world 27 points 2 months ago

Some people say they want a terror attack, to get emergency declarations and steal the midterms. I just hope this is not true. A lot of innocent people would die for few remain in power. I don’t know what to believe anymore.

[-] yakko@feddit.uk 29 points 2 months ago

Fascists are in power. That's enough to believe in while you go look for historical examples of fascists being peacefully voted out of office. That ought to keep you busy until oh, his fourth term.

The Reichstag fire (German: Reichstagsbrand, pronounced [ˈʁaɪçstaːksˌbʁant] ⓘ) was an arson attack on the Reichstag building, home of the German parliament in Berlin, on Monday, 27 February 1933, precisely four weeks after Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany. Marinus van der Lubbe, a Dutch council communist, was said to be the culprit; the Nazis attributed the fire to a group of Communist agitators, used it as a pretext to claim that Communists were plotting against the German government, and induced President Paul von Hindenburg to issue the Reichstag Fire Decree suspending civil liberties and pursue a "ruthless confrontation" with the Communists.[1] This made the fire pivotal in the establishment of Nazi rule in Germany.

[-] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 17 points 2 months ago

[-] xenomor@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago

We attacked them. Iran should retaliate on US soil. If they do, blame the trump administration and is its cuckold fetish for Israel.

[-] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

Please realize that every administration has been "cuckold fetished" by Israel. That's why we founded Israel. It's not a Trump thing, it's a US government thing; they all wear a tiny hat and kiss the wall.

Not defending Trump, he's knee deep in shit

Careful now, some social media sites might ban you for three days for saying way less

Hey Trump, if you're gonna go around bombing world leaders, there's one I'd really like to see taken care of. Pull it off and you'll be more famous than the guy that killed Hitler.

Happened to me.
