Nobody else has as many deaths, or important plot points centered around them.
He figured the dang thing out in the first place. No Daniel, no show. That cannot be applied to any other character.

As someone who has never seen Stargate, I'm gonna say it's the guy in the picture.
Hey so I've got the full box set and 8 lbs of pork shoulder to turn into pulled pork. We can probably get through a season while I do that and make some mac and cheese. Let's go
They should make a Stargate Center show, which is like deepspace 9 or babylon 5 (note: I've never properly watched these two).
I'm pretty sure Atlantis had an episode set entirely on midway.
Having seen all three shows (Stargate, DS9, and Babylon 5) I could absolutely see a Stargate show in the style of those two
