Because they're corrupt and/or cowardly.

When a civilization is terminally ill, rational people tend to stop investing time and effort into an increasingly obviously vain attempt to save it, even as lunatics move in to steal everything they can while there's still something to steal. That hastens the inevitable end.

The same reasons the Saudis gave him a 2 billion dollar fund to manage:

Nepotism, corruption, bribes, murder, pedophilia, torture, and genocide.

"Hi, would you like to see the menu?"

  • Immunity for murder (2m in BTC)

  • The Epstein special, or immunity for pedophelia (5m in BTC)

TIL getting away with rape is 400 times cheaper than getting away with murder.

[-] Redjard@reddthat.com 6 points 3 months ago

This is because rape implies a crime on a lower class human, while murder assumes you didn't get away with it by default so you must have killed a rich conservative white man.

These shits are starting a war with Iran over nukes while setting up the Saudis with their own.

The same Saudis who orchestrated 9/11. Traitor filth, all of them.

So much money. It wasn't for nothing.

In 2022 Jared Kushner’s private equity firm, Affinity Partners, received a $2 billion investment from the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, months after Kushner left the White House.

We HAD a treaty with Iran over nukes. Trump ripped it up his first term and thinks we all forgot about it

I feel like I'm living in a Groundhog's Day scenario.

The year is 2018. Donald Trump is somehow president of the United States. He believes paying Iran to not enrich uranium is a waste of money and cancels an Obama-era nuclear deal with them. Iran immediately begins a uranium enrichment program.

The year is 2025. Donald Trump is somehow president of the United States (again). He believes Iran is enriching uranium, and he drops a bomb on the suspected site. Trump claims Iran nuclear capabilities are "obliterated".

The year is 2026. Donald Trump is somehow president of the United States (still). He believes Iran is enriching uranium (still). He publicly announces plans to strike the suspected site.

So I'm guessing that dropping a bomb on Iran annually will be something you'll eventually be able to set your watch to. At least while Trump is around.

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

The media owned by the oligarchs? That media? You want to know why the oligarch-owned media isn't making a big deal about something they're fine with? Is that what you're asking?^[Being silly at you, not sarcastic. Sarcasm is directed towards our oligarchs.]
