Iirc PreCheck is also basically self funded, and actually reduces workload on TSA Agents…. The cruelty is the point.
Correct on both points. I’m not sure that the fees for PreCheck fully cover it, but I would struggle to imagine how it couldn’t given the way it works. It’s probably a cash cow, it’s almost put Clear out of business too.
This is punitive. It’s manufacturing pain.
The ONE thing I was willing to give up some privacy for and they close it down. Fucking hell
They also cancelled special TSA escorts for members of Congress. That's a perk that some members take very seriously.
This seems like a targeted attempt to affect Congress directly. And with all due respect to Rep. Mace, I think more Democrats fly commercial than Republicans. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me to find Elon funding a fleet of private jets to ferry his preferred Congressmen (and maybe a few Congresswomen, if he thinks they're hot) around during this dark time, leaving Democratic officials stuck in line.
Problem is that just slows down getting a new budget passed. So in an effort to punish Democrats DHS is also hurting itself in not letting congress do their job effectively
Suspend PreCheck, GE, and ongoing FEMA aid work "due to the shutdown" instead of the wildly expensive, unnecessary, cruel, and downright weird ICE ops. Every day this administration finds new lows to sink to.
How people supported and continue to support this trash heap of humanity bungling around as an administration I will never understand.
This is what they voted for. You're mad because they are incompetent, cruel pieces of shit. That makes them happy. They are getting their vote's worth. That's all that matters. Good people are mad.
So your already artificially long process to get into the airport is now going to be longer.
