The platform absolutely bursting at the seams with predators, with a CEO who knows this is happening but still wants to introducing dating and gambling into the game.

Why the hell would anybody ever want to be on a platform for children? Why would any parent allow their kids on a platform for adults?
Almost like kids grow up and have tastes change. Parents can easily join in.

I'm not sure if you're referring to what the CEO said about adding porn to Roblox, but if you're not, he did say he is open to adding porn to Roblox.
Is it inaccessible to my kid until I allow them access to the content, as it works now? Zero issue.

I say this is worse than the Discord shit bc now all kids gotta scan their faces just to chat... I don't like it (Roblox) alteady but fuck no am I letting my kids do it!

Apparently images alone don't work. It has to be a video following a very specific set of instructions (looking to one side, then to the other, then straight ahead - or something like that).
But your point still stands. Apparently a lot of kids are getting around this by using AI generated videos, or having a parent do it for them, or just drawing giving facial hair onto themselves.
Yes, it's definitely worse than Discord. Discord without age verification is still mostly usable. Roblox without it isn't.
The silver lining for me is that my kids have basically abandoned the platform now. I told them I'm not sending their IDs in because there's such a huge risk of a data breach.
Gmod models can fool it... It's really dumb lol

Maybe they shouldn’t be chatting there, and this is a good deterrent. And if we can say parents are the solution, then are they not again the solution here? They should keep their kids away from facial recognition, and away from online spaces that don’t know their customers.
Bothers me because I'm in process of divorcing my wife, and she pretty much does whatever the kids want so she can be the fun parent while I am the one who worries about this kind of stuff and ends up being the boring/antifun parent. So she has probably already done whatever, and if I stop them, I'm the bad guy...
That sucks. And it’s a great example of how people don’t get how difficult it is to deal with this stuff as a parent. Even when you know better.
