"The Secret Service came to my door today because of a tweet. No threats. No violence. Just words. That’s where we are now," she wrote on X in a thread about the ordeal.

She was asked about the comments she made online, and she made it clear, "I want to see their trials."

Calling for trials is a veiled threat? Fuck everyone involved with this administration.

[-] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 144 points 4 months ago

Justice is a threat to them

[-] running_ragged@lemmy.world 20 points 4 months ago

Yes, because that is how the administration uses it, knowing the trials would not be fair or just.

[-] ripcord@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago

I have yet to see anything that shows what her tweets were. Is it in the article but I'm missing it because I block Twitter?

[-] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago

I block Twitter too so I'm going by what the article says.

He asked her again what she meant by the comment, and she made it clear she was talking about officials having Nuremberg-style tribunals for those who enabled unlawful behavior.

They are preparing for the pendulum. Once they've trashed cities and ripped apart families, they want to make sure anyone brave enough to hold them accountable is silenced.

[-] spongebue@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

I guess they thought "lock them up!" would have been more appropriate? Due process is the worst, I guess

[-] not_that_guy05@lemmy.world 90 points 4 months ago

Lol can't wait to see them at my door. I'm calling for the hanging them all and ice.

[-] Eldritch@piefed.world 46 points 4 months ago

Do it in the fash social media town square with an identifiable name and they will. Do it here where only we will largely see and they won't care. Until the rest of the world and the United States wakes up and ditches these fascist platforms. The fascists will gleefully use them as easy surveillance and intimidation.

[-] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 12 points 4 months ago

If you think they're not monitoring the fediverse, I've got a bridge to sell you.

I have been on fash media. This ain't my only social media that I use.

[-] LordCrom@lemmy.world 69 points 4 months ago

I thought secret service only visited those who make violent threats against the president.

This seems new.

[-] Soup@lemmy.world 33 points 4 months ago

To cowards, this is violence.

[-] winkerjadams@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 4 months ago

And to those who are guilty. Obviously he doesn't want a fair trial

Just a reminder - I'm sure Kamala's admin would have been just as bad in every way. But at least under Taco, no one is getting killed in Gaza, right?

[-] Mim@lemmy.zip 22 points 4 months ago

Ah, still can't comprehend why your team lost.

You weirdos are a cult. Losers who couldn't even win against one of the weakest threat if they had just sided with their base, are now trying to paint themselves as "different".

I hope kamala signs you an autograph someday, bro. You seem desperate.

I'm too want to see trials for Trump officials. In the Hague.

[-] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 18 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Well if somehow law and order stands when this fascist party falls from power. I want to see every congressmember, and white house seated posting tried for treason. If they voted for something or publicly supported something they knew was false or damning to the population, they should be found guilty. And since we haven't waved the death penalty, I think we should encourage them to remove it.

If they approve the removal of green cards, we should remove all citizenship from their bloodline. It's what they want, take the trash out

(Also yes, many Democrats will be found guilty as well, your votes should forever be public. You are a representative, a civil servant, you are supposed to be a slave to the population, not the other way around)

[-] Mantzy81@aussie.zone 8 points 4 months ago

I'd be happy with Nuremberg too, as they love fascism that much, lets give them another piece of it.

[-] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 44 points 4 months ago

To be clear, I wanna see them all [redacted], every last one of them, all need to be [redacted]. There's no other way to do it, they all need to be [redacted].

[-] BanMe@lemmy.world 20 points 4 months ago

Yeah but I hope they all die.

Come on Secret Service, come after this white, cornfed Iowa boy, it'll look great in the headlines. Whit privilege on the line, fat fucks.

Even insinuating that the law should apply to rich fascists is illegal now. All hail the mobster crime lords, may they live to lie, cheat and steal for all ethernity. Blessings.

[-] Wilco@lemmy.zip 20 points 4 months ago

I want Trump arrested and put in jail. Can't wait to see it happen. I wouldnt recommend a visit Mr SS ... my state has some really fucking wild castle laws.

[-] yonderbarn@lazysoci.al 18 points 4 months ago

[-] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 17 points 4 months ago

I want to see trials in front of the international criminal court, and I want to see impeachments and trials at home. I want JUSTICE for the countless laws broken.

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

There should be trials, and when they're found guilty of sedition and treason, they should rot in prison.

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

This administration is openly hostile to American citizens. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to have a president who only serves the people who voted for him deserves to reap what they sow.

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago

That human thumb is Secret Service?

looks like they're using ICE's hiring standards

Secret Service are the chillest of all the services.

NGL, I know there's a ton of hate for everything government at this time, but I worked with them decades ago when I did union stagehand work setting up for Presidential debates.

They aren't particularly motivated by politics, since their two main tasks are protecting money (figuratively via fraud crimes and literally in the sense of maintaining awareness of currency supplies when its transferred around the country or the globe) and politicians and foreign diplomats.

Many of them get called up for duty protecting people they may personally loathe, and they do it nonetheless.

God knows I saw some of that in action with how the agents treated the college kids that were running the various campaign events.

To wit: We're setting up at one stop and the managing director is some 24 year old poli-sci major with ZERO understanding of safety and security and even less of stage construction, set design and dressing ("No.. move this here.." and then 20 minutes later.. "No.. move that back and put the other piece there..." and by this time we've spent nearly double the amount of time as normal to set the stage and press risers and are ready to kill ourselves in frustration..) and the agents are telling us how far to put up stanchions and what exists must be kept clear, and we're doing it and in comes the kid all hot and bothered saying "..No, no no.. this isn't right.. THEY - the candidate - wont' like it this way, they want a grand entrance.." and the agent stares them down and says, "I don't care what they want, this is what it is going to be.."

All the candidates campaign managers - Republicn or Democrat - acted this way. Miserable shits. They were getting their marching orders from the politicians themselves. It sucked.

So it was was delightful to see them get taken down a few notches by Secret Service. Also on another setup for Obama, one of our lead upriggers - a notorious drunk - got similarly frustrated in a similar situation and threateed to get a gun and start shooting.. Within earshot of a TV news crew. Half an hour later Secret Service shows up and the BA (business agent) for the Local pulls us all together to "get the story straight" to tell the agents, and I cut her short and said.. "Nope.. He's a drunk, we're pissed at the idiots running this setup and I'm not lying or distorting what he said.." And she kinda agreed and we all just vented at the agents about the campaign managers and that yeah.. uprigger is a massive dick and a raging drunk and miserable - we all are - but we want to ge this done so Obama can come in and speak.

They went to his house and talked to his wife and asked if there was a gun in the house and she replied she'd made him sell the pistol he'd bought a few years earlier. He was put permanently off the political jobs and sent home. (I knew his wife and I can only imagine the firworks when he got home AFTER he'd spent the remainder of the day drinking himself blind at the Elks Lodge he was a member at.)

Secret Service.. man, they could have been waay bigger dicks than they were (and they were totally ok), and seeing the shit they put up with from the politicians directly, was an eye opener.

They are different than what one expects, that's for sure. NGL, Secret Service are the last people I'd be worried about, they're never unprofessional. (which at time boggles the mind as they're often treated like shit by the politicians who can be fucking ungrateful..) They aren't ICE.

Personally I'd love to see a Trump trial or even better, Steven Miller.

The Secret Service of today is not the one you worked with decades ago. Trump corrupts everything he touches.

[-] Furbag@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

This is what I was going to say. It's one thing to hold your nose and do your job to protect prominent politicians, but Trump would never be satisfied with just professionalism. He demanded absolute loyalty over all else, which is why in my opinion the attempt in Butler was as close as it was - he clearly surrounded himself with people who were pro-Trump first and USSS agents second. Incompetent fools who didn't even bother to set up a perimeter or secure the site where he was speaking. Their only qualities are their willingness to swear fealty to Trump and nothing else.
