With what spare troops, exactly? They’ve been sending any spare units they can find straight to the wood chipper that is the Ukraine war. The Russians don’t have any logistical flexibility to speak of at this point.

Honestly, I feel like people are going after the wrong issue.

Russia had a sudden uptick in people who've experienced violent combat. US history shows that these people are, on average, less stable and more violent than usual.

Crime enforcement is going down, but a large part of that is because crime is going up.
