Something like this, maybe it is it but i feel like they were just solid colored without symbols. Very maximalist and saturated in color too, probably oriented towards children or game addict adults. Might have been one of those included with Windows default games but I think it was probably a seperately installed thing, also possible but unlikely to be one of those CDroms from a cereal box lmao. No idea

(this is not CozyMahjong)

Currently playing CozyMahjong (they make other Cozy games) but I crave the totally solid mahjong tilez

I play this one. It's called Vita Mahjong. Available on the play store.

Theres one that the tiles were almost completely solid colored and I really want to relive that one. It was probably dirt cheapo or free or freemium but I really want something like it haha

Is the schtick for mahjong usually to balance your plays so its like wear-levelled away rather than unevenly carving?

My version comes with tiles stacked above one another.

The best strategy here would be clearing tiles from the upper level first.

If this is not followed then the player would run out of moves.

Tiles that are in between a line cannot be moved unless one side is freed and unless the upper layer tile positioning exactly above it is already played.

It feels like theres some Confucian ideal of balance embedded in the game that I always try to do. Like if something matches with something next to it, thats preferable to matching with something way on the outskirts. That should be matched with another outskirts tile the way i try to do it but obviously practicality has to take precedence

they were just solid colored without symbols

you are describing a tile-based game other than mahjong

So its physically and conceptualy impossible without the symbol doohickeys? Proposterous even?

I assume they're referring to the real Mahjong, vs the tile matching game

Is there a generic terraced tile matching game distinct from mahjong? Good to known if so

Gotta be terraced
