Donald Trump will likely name his new $300 million White House ballroom after himself, according to senior administration officials.

Already, officials are referring to it as "The President Donald J. Trump Ballroom." That name will likely stick, ABC News was told.

Trump has not publicly said what he intends to name the ballroom, but he is known for branding his construction projects after himself -- and it appears this project will be no different.

I mean, that’s all I’m ever going to call it.

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 11 points 7 months ago

With the amount of old, rich and powerful men in there the Virginia Giuffre Ballroom would probably be more accurate.

No-one is every gonna call it anything but the Epstein ballroom.

[-] Inaminate_Carbon_Rod@lemmy.world 23 points 7 months ago

The republicans will.

They will then use their media arm to accuse us all of something sinister hoping the name won’t stick.

The name will stick

The Epstein Ballroom.

IF we ever take our country back, the first thing we should is tear down that monstrosity, and replace it with the original plan, and charge him for the job. After all, he never asked permission, he just took a bulldozer to the most iconic building in America.

[-] FatCrab@slrpnk.net 19 points 7 months ago

Convert it into a museum dedicated to memorializing and studying America's greatest failings and violations.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 20 points 7 months ago

I would prefer it becomes a sort of cautionary museum, about how vigilant we must be to protect our country from traitors and criminals who want to exploit it. We can call it the Trump Museum of Treason.

But no, he loves his name too much. I am of the mind to erase all mention of him from history, the way the Pharaohs would chip their predessessors names from their monuments.

He can be referred to as He Who Must Not Be Named.

I'd want to, but that might be throwing good money after bad. Maybe they'll find a better purpose for it.

[-] DomeGuy@lemmy.world 20 points 7 months ago

Throwing good money after bad would be spending another $200,000,000 to retrofit the monstrosity and be sure there are no "Russian clocks."

Just demolishing the thing and acting like a Kaiju stepped on the east wing might be petty and wasteful, but it wouldn't be throwing good money after bad.

Why does the White House even need a Ballroom? Do they throw many balls?

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 27 points 7 months ago

The only dance they'll allow is the Presidential Double Handjob.

[-] EditsHisComments@lemmy.world 15 points 7 months ago

Money laundering scheme, maybe?

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 9 points 7 months ago

I figured he was jealous of Putin or something.

Nothing says modern and big strongly manly man than getting all dolled up for a ballroom...

Epstein Ballroom

[-] MoogleMaestro@lemmy.zip 24 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Democrats should officially rename it to "The Trump and Epstein Ballroom" before demolishing it. :)

Fox news wouldn't know how to report that news.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 11 points 7 months ago

Seriously. I sure hope Taco is around to see it. :)

Highly likely his kids Uday and Qusay will be around, as well as lots of his asshole collaborators.

new $300 million White House ballroom

Wasn't it $200 million a week ago? Did they do a proper procurement with the right building specification or they're just eyeballing the price because anyway they asked the president's friend to build it with the ~~bribe~~ "donation" money and they're "uh yes we need another $100 mil "donation" to finish it"

[-] Inaminate_Carbon_Rod@lemmy.world 18 points 7 months ago

My personal conspiracy theory is that they aren’t building a 300 million dollar ballroom, they are building a 275 million dollar new secret bunker with a 25 million dollar ballroom on top.

As far as I've heard, they don't even have any blueprints or permits.

[-] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 22 points 7 months ago

Agree, it should be named after him

the Trump-Epstein ballroom

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 22 points 7 months ago

The Rapist Room, then?

[-] janewaydidnothingwrong@lemmy.world 20 points 7 months ago

Epstein Ballroom.

[-] Glytch@lemmy.world 17 points 7 months ago

What's the point of this story? Everyone already knew that. He puts his name on literally everything he can get away with. It would be news if he was planning to name it after anyone else.

[-] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 7 months ago

The point is that they want people to stop calling the Epstein ballroom the Epstein ballroom.

We'll be using the donors assets to tear down this eyesore when it's all over. Doesn't matter what he calls the Epstein Ballroom

[-] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 16 points 7 months ago

Future generations will treat it as a public bathroom.

I agree with the "Epstien Ballroom" because its self-serving, exploitative to the taxpayer and will be very ball-focused. Oh wait, maybe "Trump Ballroom" works?

[-] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 14 points 7 months ago

Does he have everything printed because he’s too stupid to use a computer?

[-] JesusChristLover420@lemmy.sdf.org 11 points 7 months ago

Ah yes the Epstein Ballroom

[-] absentbird@lemmy.world 10 points 7 months ago

It's the Epstein Ballroom.

[-] JamieDub86@piefed.social 10 points 7 months ago

I was hoping he'd name it "The Trump Room", which is hilarious as a Brit.

[-] kandoh@reddthat.com 10 points 7 months ago

Prediction: The Ballroom will never be finished. There will be construction zone where the east wing used to be for the next decade and a half

Isn't Whitehouse ballroom good enough? Why does it need another name? Maybe I don't know enough about balls

[-] TheMadCodger@piefed.social 26 points 7 months ago

I guess if there's the Lincoln bedroom, there can be the Epstein Ballroom.

Reminds me of a shitty Russian palace. If and when the USA returns to sanity, the next leaders should ask the voters if they want the damn thing demolished and bring back the Rose Garden too. Of course use union labor.

[-] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 8 points 7 months ago
