The lawyer said that he had "no idea" ChatGPT could fabricate information and that he "deeply" regretted his decision.

So he didnt even do a small bit of research into tech and how it was shown in the very early stages to lie and sound good. Sounds like he needs more time as a clerk to get that part down.

Honestly these jokers got off light. $5k is a sneeze for a law firm. I wonder if there will be subsequent disciplinary action against the individual attorneys.
