It wasn't easy but Massive Entertainment is a studio.

"Ubisoft is urging people to leave a studio they own after 2 games from them did worse than expected"

We’re reaching the point where a game needs to sell millions of copies to break even. Instead of spending $300 million on one big IP why not spend $1 million for 300 new IPs? Lethal Company made $100 million, they just need to do that 3/100 times to break even.

AAA has gotten too risk adverse. They can't have a flop, they only want big hits. Its why they keep pushing micro transactions as it let's a single title bring in more and more money. Its also the reason a lot of AA studios are starting to get the biggest hits. They are willing to take a risk to create something truely amazing.
