Scanning an object to print (forum.guncadindex.com)

My daughter shoots trap with a Beretta A400 Multitarget. The shell catcher she likes to use, the black part in the attached image, is no longer made. The one she has has worn enough were it doesn't stay on the gun. I haven't bee able to find an alternative. The standard wire ones that flip down to allow normal operation don't seem to be an option. It seems the exuberant ejection just pushes it out of the way. Is there a way to scan the one I have to make a model to 3D print it? My CAD abilities are not that good to be able to re-create it directly.

I can model it if you take some pictures and measurements. I sketched up a rough version without any regard for measurements or even the shape because I don't know what it actually looks like.
