Nah, that would be when Ted Cruz made similar comments the other day.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 23 points 2 weeks ago

Only because they are worried the next government will turn on them.

[-] jj4211@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago

Well, not just that. They derive a great deal of success from ranting against the 'liberal agenda'. If all the vaguely left leaning voices are obviously silenced, then their own engagement goes down because there's no opposition voice to rant against. As ridiculous they look on a normal day, they look just utterly beyond crazy in a scenario where everyone but them are essentially gagged.

[-] presbypenguin@reddthat.com 15 points 2 weeks ago

With all the bizarre shit that has happened since Charlie Kirk's shooting, and it's a new level of Bizarro World out there, the most bizarre may be that Rafael Edward Cruz was a voice of reason.

[-] rayyy@piefed.social 10 points 2 weeks ago

the bizarre shit that has happened since Charlie Kirk’s shooting

Now you have right wing gun folk saying the shot was impossible because they know the 30-06 would penetrate way more and do more massive damage than it did according to the report.

fuck this grift. this dude did more propoganda minutes for Maga than Charlie did, he doesn't give af about free speech beyond crying about how "censored" he is into the world's largest microphone

[-] blackbrook@mander.xyz 78 points 2 weeks ago

He said that if such interference were really happening and conservatives were supporting such behavior they were “crazy” because eventually they themselves would be the target of such censorship

What's really wild is that his biggest concern is that the people doing the fascist thing could become the target of it later. There's no dawning of 'oh maybe the people doing this aren't so good' no, he's worried that the other people who have been warning that they are fascists might pursue them later with the fascist precedent they are putting in place.

Joe Rogan is a drug-addled moron. Do not listen or engage with anything he says, even if you feel like you agree.

[-] devolution@lemmy.world 30 points 2 weeks ago

You got it all wrong. He's not drug addicted. He's brain damaged from his mma days. Apparently brain damage leads to conservative thoughts. Look at Fetterman.

[-] NotMyOldRedditName@lemmy.world 25 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

There's a talk show video out there where the host is conservative (it's well known I just can't remember the name). Some guy is on the phone talking about how he's seen the light of the GOP and the host asks what changed, and he says he got kicked in the head by a horse.

The host looks a little shocked and says something like, okay moving on.

Really kept his head down for a few days first huh?

[-] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 47 points 2 weeks ago

Careful Joe. That's sounding dangerously unconservative, and you know what the crazy conservative gun people do to those conservative voices that aren't conservative enough for them.

[-] TuffNutzes@lemmy.world 42 points 2 weeks ago

Fucking dopes all of them. Joe Rogan and all his cocksucking fans. Fucking dipshits the lot of them.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 40 points 2 weeks ago

Joe should be much more afraid of the next Groyper aiming for him. Conveniently located in Texas.

[-] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 17 points 2 weeks ago

So uh, the groyper narrative is now about as solid as the trans narrative. Everything's pointing to the guy growing up in a conservative household and disagreeing with his family and all the hate.

An important reminder is that Kimmel's monologue did not say anything slightly negative about Charlie Kirk's demonic zionazi and replacement theorgy genocidal supremacism. He only made fun of Trump for interviews in which he was asked about any sympathy he had for his dead dear friend, getting deflect-weaved into "we're building the bestest ballroom in the white house now".

I wonder if Rogan realizes that he's part of the reason we've ended up here?

[-] devolution@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago

About as much as a child who shit their pants and then points at another kid saying they smell like shit.

Well, no he didn't. Not really. I haven't heard it (and don't intend to) but according to the quotes in this article he didn't do that at all.

“The problem is the companies, if they are being pressured by the government – so if that’s real – and if people on the right are like ‘yeah, go get ’em,’ oh my God, you’re crazy. You’re crazy for supporting this because this will be used on you,” he said.

If, if, if. Wouldn't want to risk upsetting anyone would you?

[-] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 weeks ago

Yep this is just hedging his bets and the media sainwashing him, as they're required to do for all right wing personalities

[-] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 23 points 2 weeks ago

Joe has always been good at knowing which side of the fence to temporarily come off of.

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

He's always one DMT hit from emptying his brains out on the floor and fishing for a different opinion.

[-] Fuckfuckmyfuckingass@lemmy.world 21 points 2 weeks ago

The most useful of idiots.

[-] rafoix@lemmy.zip 19 points 2 weeks ago

Rogan is spineless. Tells the people supporting Trump and his policies that they are crazy but doesn’t have the balls to actually say anything negative about Trump.

[-] Horsey@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Rogan is a heavy cannabis and psychedelics user in Texas where they’re pushing to outlaw even Delta8 THC. He’s in a situation where he doesn’t want to leave for a legal jurisdiction, and could be made an example at any time. The guy could absolutely be singled out: at best he could be made to leave Texas, and at worst be jailed for his cannabis use and possession.

Joe Rogan you dumb fuck.....you helped get the orange turd elected!

[-] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago

Joe faces the same issue that Tucker does.

Both have substantial influence, and in Tucker's case substantial wealth.

Given this, I'll borrow a term from the Right to spell it out: We need more than virtue signaling.

Substantial harm requires something more than some face-turn tease.

As a thought experiment, put aside the well deserved hate you might have for Joe, and think about what harm he could inflict on the cult, if he got it in his head to do so.
