Remember the cake shit? Not so good now that the shoe is on the other left foot huh?

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 71 points 3 weeks ago

It's different because Nazis are not a protected class. The kinds of things Kirk said were a CHOICE. Being gay isn't.

[-] leadore@lemmy.world 36 points 3 weeks ago

It’s different because Nazis are not a protected class.

Were not a protected class, until now under this regime. Regardless of what any laws may say, since they no longer apply.

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

And even if it was ...

[-] santa@sh.itjust.works 13 points 3 weeks ago

Yep. She doesn’t, I guess.

[-] leadore@lemmy.world 110 points 3 weeks ago

“Businesses cannot discriminate,” Bondi said, referring to the Office Depot incident.

Yet the GOP wants 'conscience clauses' for pharmacists to be able to refuse to fill prescriptions for drugs they don't approve of, for medical personnel to be able to refuse health care to people they don't approve of, and of course for bakeries to be able to refuse their services to people they don't approve of.

[-] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 40 points 3 weeks ago

If it wasn't for hypocrisy, the GOP would not exist.

Now, THIS is definitely illegal.

[-] Xanthobilly@lemmy.world 37 points 3 weeks ago

Who’s going to do anything about it? There’s only one box left.

[-] santa@sh.itjust.works 74 points 3 weeks ago

They are a private business right? They can choose not to print them, no?

[-] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 82 points 3 weeks ago

They're not even going after a private company. They are going after one (now) ex-employee.

[-] nexguy@lemmy.world 50 points 3 weeks ago

Literally the definition of free speech.

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 28 points 3 weeks ago

They were just an employee...and they've already been fired.

[-] Fluffy_Ruffs@lemmy.world 70 points 3 weeks ago

...what law did they break?

[-] adespoton@lemmy.ca 83 points 3 weeks ago

And how did it differ from refusing to decorate a cake for a same sex wedding?

[-] No_Eponym@lemmy.ca 37 points 3 weeks ago

It's not, but that doesn't matter anymore because the rule of law is over in the US and the 1st amendment is no longer in force. Welcome to the Republic of Gilead.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 30 points 3 weeks ago

The law of the hurting the feelings of Nazis.

[-] Catma@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago

Not swearing fealty to our new god emperor

[-] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Feelings law. Trying to set more illegal and morally fucked up precedents.

[-] wuffah@lemmy.world 69 points 3 weeks ago

The US AG really going after the big fish on this one. Way to defend America from the print guy at Office Depot, Pam! You stupid fucking cunt.

[-] Mirshe@lemmy.world 16 points 3 weeks ago

FORMER print guy. Office Depot fired him before this.

[-] laranis@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 weeks ago

Punishing little fish is easier to set the expectation that opposing the Party will have consequences.

[-] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 55 points 3 weeks ago

The victimizing is insufferable.

[-] jballs@sh.itjust.works 51 points 3 weeks ago

"We don’t print propaganda, it’s propaganda."

What a legend.

[-] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 46 points 3 weeks ago

Wait... Does that mean we can get Gay cakes made now?

[-] JHRD1880@lemmy.world 43 points 2 weeks ago

“Businesses cannot discriminate,” Bondi said.

You stupid bitch, your side literally cried for years because a shop refused to make a cake for a gay couple, claiming it was their right to refuse it.

[-] coffee_nutcase207@lemmy.world 40 points 2 weeks ago

I thought it was free speech to refuse service to people you don't like?

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 37 points 3 weeks ago
[-] chillpanzee@lemmy.ml 20 points 3 weeks ago

She probably won't, but of she does, I'm sure they can fuck the guy's life up bat without any legal basis whatsoever. It's not like the law matters to them any more.

[-] jaybone@lemmy.zip 10 points 3 weeks ago

For “being the bad guy” of course. This is Perry Mason 101. Where did you go to law school?

[-] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 26 points 3 weeks ago

The GOVERNMENT Jailing people who Make them Upset is called FREEDOM!

[-] frezik 21 points 2 weeks ago

I can't wait to hear that they failed to get a grand jury to even rubber stamp the charges.

[-] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 weeks ago

Maybe she can throw a ham sandwich at them.

[-] Marshezezz 21 points 3 weeks ago

More manufactured crisis bullshit from the party that protects a child rapist

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago

Man, it's going to be wild when Taco passes away, because there will be people celebrating and they will be doing it openly.

If the snowflakes cannot handle what people say about a bottom-tier Nazi podcaster who many people had zero awareness of, they are going to positively lose their minds when they see how many people really, really hate Orange Jesus and start spontaneously celebrating in the streets.

They are going to be so busy trying to dox 2/3 of the nation...

[-] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 19 points 2 weeks ago

What's the crime? Oh right there isn't one and this administration is just making shit up at this point.

Rule for thee, not for me!

[-] IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Sounds like the government has decided to embrace SLAPP lawsuits.

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

These people are stuck on stupid. Trying to make Kirk out to be a hero just shows how little they care about reality. I feel sorry for them looking up to Kirk. They apparently all aspire to be losers who make money off of hate. I guess it is their "thing".

[-] Today@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Where's his gofundme? I'll pitch in a couple of bucks.

[-] MehBlah@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

For free speech and freedom of choice?

[-] firewyre@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Dude what the actual fuck

[-] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Well, she'll try anyway. For being famously easy to get, indictments seem to keep slipping away from her.
