I prefer piefed.zip to be future proof, we've seen how reluctant people are to migrate once they are settled
I'm curious about Piefed: can anybody tell me what the main differences / pros / cons are with Lemmy?
summary here: https://join.piefed.social/features/
Ooh man, this is what put Piefed on my radar, as I have to move two communities away from a failing Lemmy instance and there's no way to do that in Lemmy. I think I'm gonna give Piefed a serious spin soon.
yea that's a cool feature
Perfect. Thanks!

Why is too big or too small a problem?
Small instances can be less stable. Large instances aren't a problem themselves, but if new users always join the largest instance, that defeats the purpose of decentralization.
Piefed.social apparently has banned Pepe the Frog so probably not that as I can't imagine that goes down well with a lot of redditors.
social so they can get the feel of "reddit" without having to deal with thier OVERMODERATION. then they can move from there. although its too small, and some topics arnt as common as are on reddit.
I chose ~~piefed.online~~ feddit.online over the .zip since their instance has been around longer and uses the stable release
feddit.online, you mean? It doesn't seem like piefed.online exists.
Yeah, I confused names ๐
