I haven't actually played this character yet because the group I made it for failed to launch (and I'm currently between tables), but I really want to play this character. He's a Dwarven Wizard, scion to a massively wealthy trade baron. He got a job as a diviner for the family business and worked there most of his life, but at some point he realized that long-term divination is mostly bullshit, the bit that isn't is just statistics, and his job is just a sinecure to keep him comfortable since he will likely never run the company (too many older brothers). He studied magic on his own time because he thought it would help him with his job so he has some skill as a wizard. Sometimes he will go to rougher pubs and listen to adventurers talking about their adventures and imagine what it would be like to leave it all behind. Then, after a messy, public divorce, something snaps and he walks out of his job, goes to the outfitter and buys a bunch of fancy equipment, and signs up with the first adventuring crew he can find under an assumed name.

I'm playing a warforged order of scribes wizard. But the Warforged body is just a vessel for the actual character: A sentient spellbook.

Mechanically, this worked out incredibly well. I took the telepathic feat as well, and depending on the context I switch between a robotic outside voice to a demonic inside voice.

I’m playing the DM. My first in person table top game since 3rd edition. It’s going really well. Three sets of parents with kids. We hire a babysitter to watch them all when we meet.

I’m playing as an escargot bard who fakes his way into success and peoples pants.

None currently but I have played a monk, druid, bard, and ranger in pathfinder. Druid is the one I would want if I was Isekai'd and had to live with it. The ranger was great for doing a lot of consistent damage. The bard was great because I was contributing so much just by inspiring courage that anything else I did was just gravy. Monk had so many options having two free actions for movement or useful skill checks or such.

I've got a kitsune gunslinger in a homebrew campaign who kind of talks and acts like Captain Picard and a dwarf barbarian in Abomination Vaults who is basically "what if Gimli's laugh after Legolas asks him if he wants a box was a character?"

Plus I GM a game for my kids and their friends. That one's super fun.

My main character before I stopped playing was Adrik Rockseeker. A dwarf cleric who is really proud of his party getting less chaotic and more inclined to do good. Although I as a player was a little disappointed that they didn't want to take on the shady quest they picked up from a shady character in a shady alley of Neverwinter.

Mike the human fighter. His catchphrase is "Hi, I'm Mike!"

This is his current identity. He's cycled through several identities before when he's had to go on the run when previous jobs went bad and he needed to get out of Dodge.

He's not very smart as a character, but he has a set of skills that are useful to the group. He's also the blandest character in the group, which he hopes makes it so people don't pay attention to him when he goes into various cities where people might recognize him.

He has sailing experience, which has been useful on this campaign. He's also a Tavern Brawler, which has proven useful when dealing with magical creatures beyond just dealing damage.

I haven't played an actual tabletop game in years, but I'm enjoying my current BG3 character and wouldn't mind translating her to an actual 5e game at some point.

Soliel, the Dancing Flame. She's a gold dragon bloodline sorcerer/oath of ancients paladin. Zariel Tiefling for them bonus smites. Dex-based, scimitars and unarmored because of the dragon bloodline's scales giving innate mage armor. Searing smites everywhere.

She's pretty fun to play, and I imagine in a tabletop game there'd be a good bit of RP potential. I imagine her as being an orphan raised by a priest of Lathander, who ran way to join the circus in her teens, then later put those skills to use as a paladin in the adoptive parent's memory.

5e. Playing a halfling ranger (beastmaster) with a wolf mount. It's pretty cool.

First time playing BG3, but I've played a good bit of 5e and a little 3.5e. I'm trying a monk for the first time. Way of the Open Hand. I named him Rick O'Shea. He goes up front and bounces between enemies, fucking 'em up. I can't remember every choice I made, but I know for sure he took the Athlete feat, but that makes less sense outside of BG3. I can't remember his level, but I'll probably pick Mobile for another feat.

My favorite 5e character I ever played was a high wisdom, low intelligence human cleric. He would occasionally do a stupid thing that came back to bite him, but he would learn from that mistake and not do it again. He would also relay metaphorical farm wisdom to the party, always formatted as "Pappy always said..."
E.g. "Pappy always said never milk a cow if you ain't brought your bucket." Meaning don't start shit before you've figured out subsequent steps. Don't try to pick a tough fight and then realize you're out of spell slots lol.
He was a cleric of Helm but somewhere along the way he was convinced to serve another god instead who had pretty much identical goals in mind (idr the details) and I think his name was Pyxis or Pryxis or something. Idk, the cleric could never get it right so he would call him Pixar and he was like sure, fine, close enough. Anyway, so for flavor, Spirit Guardians was always Toy Story characters flying around.

My last was a deeply antisocial dual-sword Eladrin ranger in 4e. Haven't cracked open 5e yet.
