One of the things Florida has banned this year is a reading tracker app called Beanstack. The commissioner of education sent a letter to all superintendents of schools (at the county level) directing them to share it with all staff and parents.

Florida says Beanstack gives children access to inappropriate material. I’ve used it to track summer reading for myself and my family. All it does is record reading and completion for books you enter. If you scan a book Florida considers inappropriate, you already have the book.

USA does not have freedom of speech in reality, they are just brainwashed to think they have.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/countries-with-freedom-of-speech
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Press_Freedom_Index

To understand what freedom of speech really is, you should probably examine what we do in Scandinavia, we have some of the highest levels of freedom of speech in the world. Denmark even experimented with absolute freedom of speech as the first country in the world, no limitations from 1770 to 1773, but that is not good either, because there are no limits to the lies that can be spread, so we learned that personal responsibility to the law is necessary.

So no country can in practice have 100% freedom of speech. But it can be way better than what USA has. Both having better freedom of speech, and at the same time having better reliability with fewer lies.

USA is ranked 57, and that may not sound too bad, but it actually is, and is categorized as problematic.
That's a far cry from being good or even satisfactory. USA is way below countries they generally like to compare themselves to, but in fact is nowhere close to in any other regard than economic.

I’m glad I left Florida over a decade ago. It’s only gotten much worse since then. Miserable, humid, stupid shithole.

At this point I’m more interested in the books they unban or don’t ban. Somehow I feel like they’d be ok with a public library with copies of the Turner Diaries

Rich of you to assume their ok with a public library. Let's be real their constituents are illiterate and the powers that be would rather the next generation be even more mindless therefore easy to manipulate. It's like cattle to the slaughter....
