I'm eating a bowl of frozen veg medley that I microwaved until it was sufficiently warm and then put a giant glob of hummus on it. It fucking rules. As a bonus, I'm going to feel less ashamed about eating a giant bowl of rice and hot sauce later because I have eaten my veggies.

This experience made me realize that I've got to be missing out on some galaxy brain snacks. Vegan stoners, give me your secrets!

Instant tacos!

I use those vegetable protein "beef" crumbles, and it only takes like 7 minutes, mostly unattended, on the stove to heat up and simmer in the taco seasoning a bit. Spoon it in the shells, top with some dairy-free cheese and whatever else.

Which crumbles do you recommend?

Gardein Plant-based ground b'ef are my go-to. I pretty much always keep these in my freezer to throw into the odd dish or for tacos or chili or whatever.

Dehydrated brussel sprouts?!?!?!? Hot damn.

[-] FrostyTrichs@crazypeople.online 2 points 2 days ago

Yeah... They're addictive enough that I've considered making them myself but I'm so damn lazy. They're just seasoned with sea salt so there's no flavor surprises or tastes buried under excessive seasonings. The real surprise was how amazing the texture of the sprouts is when dehydrated. Some parts are light and crunchy like seaweed snacks, some parts are closer to crispy onion string texture, and the base is much more solid but still satisfying to eat. Occasionally one will be borderline inedible at the base so you have to be careful how carelessly you shovel them in. Or at least that's what I tell myself every time I destroy my jaw on one of them LMFAO.

Where do you find premade dehydrated brussel sprouts?

[-] FrostyTrichs@crazypeople.online 2 points 18 hours ago

Walmart in the US, sold under the "BetterGoods" brand.

The title might be redundant but it is what it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Post the food you cook, or the recipes you love.

In the spirit of the chill vibes CPO ethos, some simple rules:

  1. You don't need to be vegan to participate but if you go to the trouble of bringing it up, I'm not going to delete critical/mean comments.

  2. No low effort content. OC such as memes are welcome, link spam is not. If you are linking a recipe at least let us know why you are sharing it. Do you like it? Is it something you've been meaning to try? Give us something!

  3. Low effort content will be flagged in the comments. I get it, not everyone reads the side bar. If it becomes a pattern from a user I'll just start deleting them 🤷🏻‍♀️

  4. You can cross your own posts from other coms but cross posts from other comms without discussion (or cross posts that are stirring up shit) will be deleted.

  5. I can't believe I have to write this - if you comment about eating corpses or other bodily fluids, I'm deleting it.
