I much prefer rounded corners. Also the big one is too big and the normal one is too small. Nice try Tim Apple. 🍏

You say this after they change it to rounded corners? lol.

You’re about 3 years late in this one

[-] casmael@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

New one is still square, still looks shit

[-] Earthwormjim91@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Are you talking about the face of it or the edges?

The edges are rounded

[-] casmael@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

I want the whole edge to be rounded. The tiniest rounded corner and then a straight slab side doesn’t count.

[-] Earthwormjim91@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Then buy something with a round edge then? Idk what to tell you lol. Personally I think the round edges look like shit

[-] casmael@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

It doesn’t matter if I buy it or not it will still look shit

Edit: also you are wrong rounded edges are much nicer and more successful

[-] Earthwormjim91@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

I mean, you’re wrong so you’re definitely in the right sub

[-] Tenniswaffles 2 points 2 years ago

If you're not planning on buying it, why the fuck do you care? Why spend so much energy on something so pointless?

Shape of object is important. Perceived ideals of physical attraction are important. Corporate ability to shape narrative is important. iPhone is culturally important.

Also it’s called !unpopularopinion not !veryimportantopinion

It’s deliberately mild and unimportant because that’s mildly amusing and not stressful, and everyone is way too stressed atm x

[-] Tenniswaffles 1 points 2 years ago

Nice deflection, but it's obvious from how furiously and continuously you defend your opinion that you're also pretty "stressed" about this lol.

[-] DScratch@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

This is an unpopular opinion, because you are incorrect.

[-] casmael@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

On the contrary, I am massively correct but thank you for your input

There you go x

Haven't been keeping up with iPhones (Android user here). Which iPhone you like, and which one you don't? Just want to search the images to get what you're saying.

[-] casmael@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

I like the original iPhone X, the iPhone 11, and the iPhone XR. All of these had somewhat rounded sides.

I don’t like the iPhone 4, or the more recent iPhones 12, 13, 14, and now 15

[-] HidingCat@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Ah, I see what you mean now. I have to say, I do prefer the square sides. Wife has a nothing Phone 1 and I really like how it looks and feels.

[-] BURN@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I’m of the opposite opinion. The square corners look 1000x better and are easier to hold. Also I love my 14 Max and the size of it. Great for watching YouTube or other media on.

Remember that if you think this opinion is unpopular, you should upvote. If you think this opinion is popular, downvote.

[-] PlasmaDistortion@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

That’s what a protective case is for, to hide it.

[-] Synthead@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

And then if you don't like the case, put a phone around it

[-] casmael@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

And then perhaps it would be sensible and also convenient to have a case around that phone, in case you drop it

[-] WhyJiffie@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

That's not unpopular at all. Afaik most people like ugly rounded corners over square corners. But I would say that's fine if only Apple devices would be like that.

[-] BrainisfineIthink@lemmy.one 1 points 2 years ago

I have no fucking idea what anyone in this thread is talking about. The iPhone has and has always had rounded corners. Fucking everyone phone has round corners. The only phones I can even think of that didn't have rounded corners were a Windows phone from like a decade ago and the LG V30 that nobody bought.

What are they talking about anyone know?

[-] Vuipes@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

They are switching between round/square design every few years to look different than previous generation. Which sells products better. Most loyal people will think its new unique design.

[-] casmael@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

Why not try hexagonal design instead? Much more convenient and human

Welcome to the Unpopular Opinion community!

How voting works:

Vote the opposite of the norm.

If you agree that the opinion is unpopular give it an arrow up. If it's something that's widely accepted, give it an arrow down.

Guidelines:

Tag your post, if possible (not required)

  • If your post is a "General" unpopular opinion, start the subject with [GENERAL].
  • If it is a Lemmy-specific unpopular opinion, start it with [LEMMY].

Rules:

1. NO POLITICS

Politics is everywhere. Let's make this about [general] and [lemmy] - specific topics, and keep politics out of it.

2. Be civil.

Disagreements happen, but that doesn’t provide the right to personally attack others. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Please also refrain from gatekeeping others' opinions.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Shitposts and memes are allowed but...

Only until they prove to be a problem. They can and will be removed at moderator discretion.

5. No trolling.

This shouldn't need an explanation. If your post or comment is made just to get a rise with no real value, it will be removed. You do this too often, you will get a vacation to touch grass, away from this community for 1 or more days. Repeat offenses will result in a perma-ban.

6. Defend your opinion

This is a bit of a mix of rules 4 and 5 to help foster higher quality posts. You are expected to defend your unpopular opinion in the post body. We don't expect a whole manifesto (please, no manifestos), but you should at least provide some details as to why you hold the position you do.

Instance-wide rules always apply. https://legal.lemmy.world/tos/
