And he'll win with 70+% of the vote. The best and brightest don't live here in TN.
I would defend Tennessee at least partially. Tennessee is home to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory which houses the world's second largest supercomputer (Frontier). Scientists from across the world to come work there every year. These scientists are woefully out numbered by everyone else like you said, but some of the brightest minds are in fact in Tennessee.

Would have to resign to do so? Says who? Says the law? Never heard of 'em.
It's not a matter of have to. A political office in TN is a notable step down from SecDec. There's nothing he would want to accomplish there that he couldn't in the White House. He wouldn't be talking about it if he thought his position was secure.
