we're done with the badge!!
got a suggestion from someone on the discord on making things look better, i'm shit at art so honestly am not sure what i'm looking at but if anyone wants to start on that go ahead
What they suggest is what it looked like when I thought you had changed the template. e.g the right half of the badge was all dark red, lettering was all white with random pink and brown removed.
I think it's cuz you were on source instead of one-to-one maybe. I honestly just stole it off pinterest like previous years. No gripes with changing it, but tbh i do think a bit of shading with the pink does look a bit neat. I also changed up the A a bit so it actually looks more like an A.
(tbh, i think it works as is, but apparently other people disagree and i suck at art. i'm not gonna force the issue, though)
I'm a visual learner, so I'd have to see what the suggestion was to understand what would need changing.
I take peoples point, especially zoomed in. I think zoomed out it looks better. I'm also fairly shit at art, at least in this context, outside of random doodling when I'm bored or distracted...

This has turned out to be unfortunate timing for me. This weekend has been very hectic. I applied a few pixels but then had other stuff to do for several hours. And not I need to log on again. I'll try to contribute a bit in maintenance today.

Should be able to finish it, but the main parts are done at least.
I reached out to eatham who was making Bluey and the Aussie flag to ask if they had a plan for the bottom right corner next to Bluey. They also seemed to change what their design was due to taking up other people's canvas space, so I asked if they wanted us to keep the southern cross star.
Looks to me that the Southern X is losing out. We should finish the canon.
They did ask us to leave it, but also admitted that they didn't think they would get much done. Their design looks to be quite big and ambitious if they were going through with it. Not to mention it encapsulates a lot of other communities areas/designs.
We can leave it for now and got over it once everything else is done?

Also Aussie and also vastly unimpressed by how dated the flag is and unrepresentative of our modern nation.
Change the anthem as well while we're at it. Bit dull... girt by sea? It's like they couldn't think of anything else worthwhile to say, lol

yeah, let's finish our bit first. I'm honestly a bit surprised how little they've gotten done, tbh.
For what it's worth, if we have time, before wiping out that star, we should probably add something for Jota. Even if it's just like, a small text "rip jota". Especially given we seem to be the only football presence on here other than the MLP football.
I'd also like to do something for Jota. I know he wasn't an Arsenal player, but I think it would be nice. Maybe something to do with the number 20 as well?
I think everyone in football got hit hard by the Jota news. It still doesn't feel real, ngl. I sent a post over to c/LiverpoolFC, but not sure if anyone'll respond. If they don't, I was thinking a "YNWA RIP JOTA FOREVER NO. 20" text or something? not sure.
ultimately I want to defer to any scousers if there are any active enough to contribute.

I’ve been chipping in
I talked to the guy who was vandalising, he was like "yeah fuck the Brits for colonising" but then when he learnt I was from Hong Kong was like "yeah you know what that's not an unfair reason to be pro-Brit" lmao
So apparently because colours are weird and the photo wasn't designed for this, some stuff might end up having like, different coloured pixels on different devices in the template. So if it's close enough then just leave it be, probably.
