I was doing a case swap and when following eXtremeRate’s instructions, the video wasn’t really great at demonstrating how weak this part was and I popped it off the board. To be fair the plug was really jammed in there.

It appears after some investigation this might be the piece:

As soon as I find my calipers I will update with the pitch.

~~There’s no part number on the plastic and I was wondering if anybody knew where to order some~~

In the better picture is looks as if there is a “A” and“1C”

Edit: removed fingers, added better picture

Looks like the haptics connector bracket on the right button board according to iFixit:

https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Steam+Deck+Right+Button+Board+Replacement/148943

"Exercise caution when lifting this connector—pry up on the connector itself, not its housing.

Use the pointed end of a spudger to lift up on the haptics cable to disconnect it.

Alternatively, you can leave the haptics connected to the button board and flip the board up and over the edge of the shell and out of the way."

Lots of comments along the lines of:

"Please remove this step. It is virtually impossible to remove this without breaking the housing and it's ultimately not necessary."

Looks like replacing the board as a whole is around $141.

Right haptics connector receptacle.

You can repair it by soldering the wires: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1et2pxh/learned_how_to_solder_and_repaired_my_broken/

The connector receptacle can be bought separately, it's a standard one, probably Pico EZmate. Measure whether the pitch is 1.0 or 1.27 mm so you have the correct one.

The one that you have appears to be intact

I’d be curious to know if it’s the solder joints that failed (less common) or if the pads ripped out of the PCB, which is usually what happens in these cases.

In the latter case, you’re going to have a hard time installing the replacement part. You’ll need to first restore the pads, which falls into “microsoldering” territory that will have a higher tool and skill / precision requirement.

That's almost certainly a 7FA

You don't think it might be an F7A?

Thinking it might be in the Pico-EZmate line.
