What home invader Rings the doorbell? And he shot him as he was driving away. This defense is shit.

[-] doctortofu@piefed.social 15 points 2 months ago

Exactly. I'm a terrible liar, can't do it to save my life, so I have huge... well, not really respect, but maybe bafflement towards people who are able to spout this caliber of bullshit with a straight face.

Home invaders sometimes ring doorbells to check if anyone is home: https://youtu.be/iYbV_GTY5k4

That doesn't excuse this asshat.

So do Girl Scouts selling cookies.

It happens more often than you'd think these days. They pretend to be a dasher, the police, a maintenance worker, a tree trimming service. Anything to get in the door, especially if they're already planning on violence.

Obviously you still shouldn't shoot at people just for being in your driveway or at your door though.

Edit: the guy who killed the politicians in Minnesota literally rang their doorbell. You're a fucking dipshit.

That's right wing paranoia.

[-] Scranulum@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

That's not a counterargument, these are unfortunately things that really happen irrespective of how you percieve them, and I'm a leftist. No reason to be a smarmy little fuck.

[-] NotAGamer@lemmy.org 4 points 2 months ago

Bad counter argument. This things happen because Americans worship gund.

[-] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

All hail Gund

I don't really need a counterargument if I wasn't met with an argument. The more you know 🌟

[-] astrsk@fedia.io 12 points 2 months ago

Bullshit.

shooting at the DoorDash driver’s car on 2 May as the person was trying to leave Reilly’s property.

Stop making excuses for shitty people.

[-] Scranulum@lemm.ee 9 points 2 months ago

No, it happens, unfortunately. No one's making excuses for this crazy asshole in the article. You're just reading way too far into what I said and you're assuming I must feel like this was justified. It wasn't. But if the question is, as it was, "what kind of home invader rings the doorbell?" The answer is "uh, plenty of them do that."

If you, in good faith, believe otherwise, then congrats on living somewhere without an abhorrent rate of violent crime. You are officially privileged enough to be delusional. Now educate yourself.

Maybe the Doordash guy didn't give him his food and he was really hungry so he shot at him. A hangry murder attempt.

Home invasion? How quaint! That was a thing 20 years ago. I mean, not actual home invasions. They were quite rare, just like they are now. Fear of home invasions as part of the national zeitgeist, though, where it's in the media all the time, and we make movies about it.

This guy needs to keep up. It's autistic trans illegals now. (And if he'd said he thought the guy was an ICE agent, I might have had a moment of sympathy.)

[-] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 months ago

You can bet that conservative propaganda outlets are pushing the narrative that autistic trans illegals are breaking into homes, cleaning out medicine cabinets and replacing them with fentanyl or something equally as batshit.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 18 points 2 months ago

The dude was driving away. Solid fear that he's breaking in, dude, I believe you. /s

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

Dude was driving away and the guns were illegal. Not in that they couldn't be made legal they just chose not to likely because they're an official and assumed they could get away with it.
