The question is rhetorical. People will likely give some explanation for why people choose to see remakes but the fact is, regardless of why, the majority of moviegoers clearly want to see remakes

I'm convinced most people just want entertaining with their brains switched off.

Certainly all the slop around comic-based movies and the wider action genre, for sure.

...I guess it's healthier then drinking, so maybe they've got one up on me?
