I’d do the same thing if my country was invaded every few decades.
Some part of it is because we used to have a dual form in our language (as in between single and plural). The rest is pure sadism as far as I can tell from my years in Polish educational system.
It's my favorite slavic language. I wish it wasn't so goddamn complicated so I can learn it.
