This narrative about an "invasion" is such bullshit, but I'm sure these demons will use it anyway.

The absolute slaughter of cops and ice agents that would immediately happen. Like a Thanos snap.

No incentive to comply. No incentive to be taken alive. If they ever get you in cuffs that's a wrap. You are gone. Whether that's to an extermination camp in a foreign country. A domestic slave labor camp. Or just beaten to death and thrown in a mass grave like those cops did down south. You are effectively gone. So we have to stop that from happening by any means necessary.

I halfway think that's what they want. So they can declare martial law. But that just ends in open war.

Their real reason is that they don't think brown people deserve due process.

Their real reason is that they don't think ~~brown~~ people deserve due process.

They're just getting started with immigrants.

[-] daannii@lemmy.world 20 points 14 hours ago

I'm pretty sure the reason they keep kidnapping people with asylum and green cards and reporting them is cause they can't actually find that many undocumented immigrants.

I'm aware there are some. But I don't think there is a ton of them.

Have they tried looking on The Dipshit's golf courses and hotels? We know he employs them. If they really wanted a fix they'd be going after the employers. But the scare factor is the point - makes them more exploitable

Hmm! You make a good point. They went to my state recently and in a city, they only found 3 illegals (they said there are many over there). Some few others they captured were American citizen gang members.

That would directly contradict the Constitution. So...no.

[-] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 27 points 19 hours ago

Nobody in a position to enforce the constitution cares about it anymore. If you want to keep your habeas corpus, you will need to do something about it.

[-] futatorius@lemm.ee 4 points 11 hours ago

Yep. It's not self-enforcing. If the courts and the legislature do nothing, it's up to us.

Basically what Trump lied but repackaged to be as specious as possible

[-] RegularJoe@lemmy.world 6 points 21 hours ago

Noem declined to say whether she supported actually taking that step and said Trump would make any decision.

"This is something that's not in my purview to weigh in on," she said. "This is the president's prerogative to pursue, and he has not indicated to me that he will or will not be taking that action."

[-] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

"I can't make a decision on whether it's bad or good to suspend habeas corpus. At the same time I'll support anything the president does because he is king. But I don't think he'll really do it. Wink."
